    I can't be bothered restarting firered to get a metalcoat so I know that the magnemite and magneton in emerald have like a 5% chance of holding this item! I'm wondering if I have a zigzagoon in my team and use snatch against them will actually improve my chances of getting a metalcoat?

    It's worth a shot. If it works, then that's awesome. If it doesn't, then at least you tried.
     
    Can't beleive my luck, got it after catching like 2 magnemite! Thought it'd take me forever lol
