Green Day is not an example of punk.

You've been lead to believe that by the media… don't be fooled.

I'm not a fan of either. Emo, while I can appreciate the feelings going on underneath, has quickly become a fad… and Punk, as you meant it, isn't punk at all, and is simply marketted to you as punk.

Punk is the Clash, the Germs or FEAR.
 
Neither ... I tend to like POP, Rock & Country.
 
Okay, recently emo has picked up this stereotype of being whiney, pissy, depressing music full of teen-angst. It almost seems that as soon as any band puts out a song showing any real emotion in it, they're instantly labelled as "emo."

I'll go with punk.
