I-I think I figured out why ROM Hacking has come along slower since 2008-now

The approval system and lack of areas.

So let's say I wanted to post a training program for new ROM hackers, the closest place to putting it would be Team Discussions. Which, uses an approval system, and it was turned down. Because there is no other spot to put it!

Plus, when I attempted to post my ROM Album of ten hacks, it was declined.
Whether it be because of Liquid Crystal Revamped (which LaZ approved) or because of bad screenshots, which I had 6 (including 4 that qualified, so I know that they wouldn't decline because of that) They need to recognize new ideas!

I'm not saying I don't like the mods, they're great! I'm just saying that maybe we need to expand on what they accept. And maybe add a new area for "other" or something. And understand that LaZ approved a few people to remake LC

    Just my suggestion :3

    Keep on hackin'!

I was under the impression that the "other" threads would fall under ROM Hacking itself. It's where the RHN has always gone as well as general discussion threads, announcements, and even my own poorly contrived attempt at ROM Hacking Tutoring has gone. ;(

We had a beginner's lounge before. It didn't work out.

    Also...
    a. I can't take this thread seriously, given the font and size of it.
    b. We have a mod named LaZ????
    c. I'm preeeeetty sure the emulation mods would rather have new ideas over recycled ones that have been used time and time again.
    d. Are you sure you aren't just upset over the fact your thread was declined?

What do you mean by "ROM Hacking has come along slower since 2008-now"?

I like the the way the approval system has been implemented in Emulation. It ensures that the forum has a far higher quality than it would have if every new person was allowed to post their 5 minute map edit of Pallet Town. A few years ago we used to have an area called the 'Scrapbox' which was suppossed to house threads for hacks that were still ideas/ had barely any work done on them at that point. You didn't need a mod to approve your thread, so the result was that there were hundreds of threads that had no quality or redeeming features what-so-ever which were made by people who would only hang around for a month or so. The Beginner's Lounge which was closed earlier this year was similar, except that you couldn't post hacks - Despite this stipulation, it turned into a mini version of Team Discussions. In cases like these, when a ROM Hacking forum is open for people to make a thread on a whim it is seriously spammed/ abused by new users similar to the current Team Discussions and leaves a lot to be desired in terms of quality. It becomes a giant headache for the mods since they have to continuously cleanup the giant cluster of useless threads and generic posts.

Were you trying to post your hacks in Progressing Hacks/ Hacks Showcase? The Sideshow Showcase sounds perfect for your LC edit, but submitting a couple of hacks in a single thread sounds pretty strange and may have been why it was rejected.

If you have something miscellanious to submit then I would say that the 'ROM Hacking' part of the board would be the best place to submit it - That's where group projects (that haven't focused on a specific hack) like the ROM Hacking Podcast and the old Newsletters have been allowed. I would agree with the decision that the mods took in saying that it doesn't belong in Team Discussions since you're not actually trying to construct a team around a hack, which is the core aspect of the forum.

    A. Lol, that's my default font and size xDDDD
    B. No, LaZ is the original creator of LC and he has approved I can make LCR
    C. It's not hack ideas, it's entire formats that they don't seem to li,e
    D. Yes I think I'm overreacting lol, but still I think it's true.

I don't think you get what I was saying-
I didn't say get rid of approval. I was recommending it be more open to different things. The beginners lounge probably wasnt run the way that I picture RHITwo. As for Your third paragraph, I don't understand xD.

And the RHIOne album with ten hacks was a idea I had to promote diff hacks with other hacks and have a release system similar to music.

Yeah, it's still frustrating to read and makes it hard to actually give credibility to what you're saying when you're typing in unnecessary font/size changes. :(

    "C. It's not hack ideas, it's entire formats that they don't seem to li,e" <- I don't get this.

I don't think they need to change what they accept and what they don't. The rules there are strict for a reason. If you have an idea PM one of the moderators beforehand and they'll tell you (maybe not right away, but given time they will - remember they're busy as hell there) why or why not it's a bad idea or a good idea. And if you have an idea and want to see if it will get any support, why not throw it into ROM Hacking Discussion (yeah the thread) and see if anyone likes it or not?

I dunno, I think you're just making a mountain out of a molehill. If you have new ideas, that's brilliant - discuss them with other people, see if they're wanted or not, or just ask the mods and wait a little while for them to respond. No need to try and make huge changes to the way Emulation runs, because it has always been ran like that. :(

I entirely agree with you except for my font xD
I am making it too big of a deal... And I should have messages a mod beforehand, and when I revise all my threads I will do that
    Thanks vrai
    Please close this

    Keep on hackin'

Side note: If the mods don't think it belongs there and the approval system was gone, they would just lock it as soon as it was posted anyway :x
