It seems like Team Galactic are a much more firece and serious team compare to Team Magma and Aqua which will lead to intresting things in the upcoming appearneces. The writers seem to have did a good job in keeping them secert this long and by revealing them it only left more questions as in what they are doing. Super coolies.
What really got me questioning was, did Team Galactic took any meteorites? I could have swore I saw some of the meteorites go into the helocoptors but it seems like according to Ash and Jenny that they didn't get away with any. I am kinda confuse.
I don't know, as Aqua and Magma were just as serious. Izumi threatened to electrocute everyone with the Weather Institute's satellite by creating lightning storms, and Homura had no compunctions on hitting Max and character-of-the-day with a Shadow Ball, nor cared if they fell to their deaths. Plus, Magma actually succeeded in two missions (Slateport and the WI), with the WI mission being done with surprising competence (thanks, Bannai). Not to mention, both groups got Groudon and Kyorge without Hoenn imploding beforehand, which isn't a small feat.
Secrecy is important for an evil organization, yes, however, don't mistake it for the writers not doing anything with said organization The real irony is that, in the games, Galactic is the most publicly featured organization in its respective region. They have a great media campaign, no one suspecting a thing and are able to function out in the open. Surely, as we're 70 episodes in, we would have heard a Galactic media promotion or something, right (lest I'm wrong, and someone can correct me)?
I'll wait until the next encounter before I claim any true assessments, as I want to figure out the writers' pattern and approach. However, with the lack of substantial presence (at least, do secret scenes like in "Sphere of Influence" for dramatic irony), it's difficult to care about this group, if at all.
As for them actually succeeding with the meteorites via exposition, we'll have to wait for Dogasu to fine tune all that. Or go bug Bulbapedia.
Now, is this Galactic plotbunny going somewhere? Looks that way, but don't prolong it, either, writers. Galactic should be more than a mere footnote, which they are right now. I'll go with SBaby's analysis on the rest.
And, if it helps, I'll try to do more Fantastic Four references for your benefit. And lay off the late night snacks! The Mod commands it!
And, Jorah, yes, "Wowzers" is an expression uttered by the protagonists in Inspector Gadget.
