Enyone beaten the elite four with bug pokemon

I just owned the Unova Elite Four with an all-Bug type team. Of course, half of them are weak to bug, so it wasn't too hard. Marshal gave me the most trouble, but Excavalier set up 3 Iron Defenses and took care of business.

Also, this is before the N and Ghetsis battle, not the second time with Alder.
 
I did a bug monotype challenge in Red one time, it actually wasn't all that difficult. With enough training and strategy, you can win with anything. But yes, the difficult part was having the option of three damaging bug moves: Leech Life, Pin Missile and Twineedle. The last two Beedrill being the only one receiving STAB from. But their ability to learn grass and psyching attacks helped a lot.
 
I beat all four generations that existed at that point a while ago when I used to be more enthusiastic about things and stuff with Bugs. I don't remember it even being that hard.


One thing I've been missing in this thread so far is the word "Venomoth". Venomoth is a god in generation 1 and 2 and still viable later on even though Butterfree beats it there as the team's status user with Psychic and Grass moves.
 
I'm replaying platinum right now and my new team has
a LV40 Dustox and LV38 Beautifly, they're surprisingly
strong and are my main offensive pair of the new team
I'm training Scyther right now, just wait for few days
and i'm gonna use them to crush the E4.
 
Beat the elite four with a shedinja in Soulsliver. Had a vespaqueen in pearl. Beedrill in firered. Butterfree agian in firered. Ledyba and Ariados on the same team in crystal. Leavanny in pokemon white. Mothim in platinum.

I read a nuzlocke once were they beat the elite four with a butterfree on the team, Also that person made a post once on tumblr saying that she sweaped a team of uber hacked legendary's on Battle revelation with said Butterfree.
if you want a pure bug type then I watched this caterpie solo run once.

Hey, Shuckle is a great Pokemon, its defenses are extremely high. The only two Pokemon that are Bug types that i have used were Shuckle and Ariados to be the Elite Four but they had help from other Pokemon.
