Error when running "make" command

hi all, very new to ROM-hacking, so i'm really not quite sure what i'm doing wrong here.

i am trying to build a Pokefirered ROM, but whenever i attempt to run the "make" command in Cygwin, i get the following error:

(can't post images or links so this will have to suffice)

this should be just the base FireRed ROM, with only one graphical change (that was attempting to test to make sure it worked). Everything else is untouched.

pokefirered is currently in a non-usable state. If you would like to use the decomps, please consider using pokeemerald.
