Actually I would go far as to say they punished Flareon in the 4th generation. Main because of Shadow Balland of course a loss of some other moves as well.

The Eevee-Evolutions strength is thier good stats. Too bad it doesn't really do enough for them.

Yes, i agree with this post more then anything. i still wouldn't use Eevee-Evolutions even it was a Uu Tourney. anybody who says Eevee-Evolutions are strong, are very VERy Wrong. even Cradily does better then them.
