4th Gen EV Breeding

    When should I start EV Breeding? I've decided to start it right now, but I'm still at Pastoria City and I'm training my Pokemon on Bibarels for strength. I've noticed that this time isn't the perfect time to EV Train since I still have to fight the Pokemon from the Gyms.

    When exactly should I start EV Breeding?
     
    Yes, Shiny Umbreon is right. And, seeing as you can only get a certain amount of EV points, you should start atleast after you've beaten the pokemon league and have the national dex. Then there's no trainers you need to beat, so you can focus mainly on EV training.
     
    As an extension you may have been thinking about IV breeding. Either way dont worry about EVs or IVs until you are ready to try competetive battling
     
    But you don't really want to start late though, or you'll end up having to start from scratch

    Trust me, starting from scratch isn't that bad. Keep in mind that it is damn near* impossible to get a properly IV bred, EV trained Poke before you beat the Elite Four.

    It's really not easy to EV train as there is no storyline to complete. That's if you you start after beating the Elite 4
