The other day i was training my charizard on level 40 against some zigzagoons for EVs. I battled about 80 of them at least (based on the PP i had left.) But when I finally got a level up my stats were not effected. My speed went up only by 3 along with my other stats. 80 divided by 4 is 20. Am i doing something wrong. Note: my speed stat is not maxed out in EVs i only just started working with it

There's a limit per level on how many stats you can gain from EVs. If you actually gained 20 right away, it'd be ridiculous; you'd be pwning everything in the game with ease. The remaining 68 EVs (or 17 points) will carry over and be added on gradually as you make your way up to level 100.

But once with my rayquazza i gained +21 attack. Plus at a site called pokerealm there is a screenshot of a mewtwo gaining +65 in a stat!

A level 40 charizard (if it wasn't leveled in the daycare or cheating) probaly has its EVs maxed out already.

Actualy EVs come right away when you level up, how else could my dunsparce in FR get 27 sp defense on one level up?

Smarty Arty is right about EVs coming up right away. But the charizard was on level 40 from sp.attack EV training which worked.

No for some reason i cant find it. I talk to the Winstrate family and nothing happens but none of my pokemon are holding it.

Maybe it's because charizard's speed evs might have been maxed out already while there might be some unused sp attack points.

    Laziness to quote...

Meh. The last (and only time I've ever bothered) to EV train on my LG, I never gained more than 7 at a time kicking Pidgeys and Rattatas around. And a lot gets kicked around at such low levels...

Its ok now i've discovered the problem and maxed out my charizards EVs. The last thing to do is get some base stat lowering berries and make sure there are no EVs in the wrong stats. (I was getting to many EVs at once.)
