4th Gen EV reducing berry messages indicating max happiness & amount of berries?

When I show the person in Hearthome my pokemon, I get the same response for two of them.

"It simply adores you! I feel like I'm intruding"

I had used a bunch of EV reducing berries on one. Now since he's at max happiness (I guess) and no EVs, when I try to use any more I get the message "It won't have any effect".

When I use any of the EV reducing berries on the other one, I get the message that she became more friendly, and that her base for the stat of the berry I used can't go lower. I gave her enough berries to make her EVs 0. How many more of these berries do you think it would take to get her where I get the "It won't have any effect" message so I know her happiness is the same as the other pokemon?

What is the maximum amount of EV reducing berries for any pokemon to get the "It won't have any effect" message?

I know there are several other ways to make pokemon happy, I was just wondering about the number of berries.

Honstly id get messages walk arround lv up ur pokemn its a lot easier to train that way

The berries will reduce the EVs gained in each stat. The first berry will bring it down to 100 if the EVs are above 100. Every other berry will subtract 10. So if you feed the pokemon 11 berries for one stat you will remove all EVs from that one stat. Happiness really doesn't have anything to do with it.

Ev reducing berries increase happiness, slightly. Same with vitamins.

i usually feed the Pokemon a bunch of vitamins for a stat that they don't need, then use the appropriate berry to reduce those Evs.


Oh they stop eating the berries once the happiness is maxed.

Yes, just allow them to faint a lot in battle and they will dislike you more, and you can give them more berries.

I wasn't asking for easier or other ways to make a pokemon happy. Others may find that information useful, but it's not the answer to my question.

I wanted to know what is the most amount of berries I would need to use if that's all I use for maxing out their happiness? That would be without doing anything to make them not like their trainer.
