I was wondering if there was any way to have a pokemon gain experience w/o EV's besides leaving it in the daycare center. I want to be able to EV train after it reaches a level where I can guess where the EV's should go.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

There is no easy way to EV train.
The only other way to train without giving EVs is rare candies

All Pokemon have a set of EVs that they work well with no matter what level they are. So whether you EV train a Lv. 5 Pokemon or a Lv. 90 Pokemon doesn't matter since it's going to be the same in the end. If you don't know what Pokemon need what EVs, we can help you with that.

Now, IVs are a different story. In order to see how good your IVs are, you need Pokemon at a pretty high level (around 50) in order to calculate them accurately. If you have plenty of Rare Candies, you can feed them to your Pokemon until they're around Lv. 50, calculate their stats, then reset the game to before you used your Rare Candies.

Well, that would be half the thing. Determining the IV's of pokemon to see where the EV's would be best placed. If I understand this correctly, I don't need to be pumping an alakazam with Sp. Att. EV's if its IV for that stat is 31, correct?

But, since I can't determine that until a certain point, it would be hard for me to decide where to optimally place the EV's. Or am I misunderstanding all of this?

No, you still want to max out it's SAtk, just because it has a good IV doesn't mean you should waste evs in other stats

hello fellow trainers. I was wondering if any one knows the secret behind the EON ticket. I have it but dont know how to use it. Ihave went to the port and tried to use it but it did not work. Can someone please reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please don't spam in someone else's post.

Blades, what you need to do is get a team of 6 Linoone together and use their Pickup Ability to get a bunch of Rare Candies. If you have Emerald, you will need to level them up to Lv41 before they will pick up any. Then, once you have a decent collection, save your game, and then feed your Pokemon RCs (as AB suggested) until your Poke is Lv50. Then use the IV Calculator at www.psypokes.com or dowload Metalkid's Pokemon Program and record what your Pokes IVs are. That will help you determine if your Poke is even worth training. There are actually natural areas that you can EV train your Pokes, in RSE at least:

1 HP: Whismur - Rusturf Cave
1 Atk: Carvanha - Fish Route 116 (Super Rod)
    1 Def: Sandshrew/Skarmory - Route 113
    1 SAtk: Spinda - Route 113
    2 SDef: Lombre - Route 114; 1 SDef: Swablu/Lotad - Route 114
1 Spd: Zubat - Meteor Falls

Dang - anyone ever notice Shanecdavis is like the Mariano Rivera of PokeCommunity. He comes into threads and just shuts em down. All the facts are in his post about IV + EV so if that wasn't clear enough - your probably gonna have trouble. I mean the only thing to add is if you don't like fishing for ev training you can get SDEF in the forest just before meteor falls.<swablu=1 / lotad=1 / lombre=2>.

Dude how are you gonna ask a question about the ion ticket in a thread about breeding / training.:cross-eye If you gotta question like that use the simple question threads at the top of every sub forum.

Thanks for the run, WT. I will have to pay you later. I totally forgot about about Route 114. Excellent suggestion. I will add that to my notes.

Even without trying if you play the game and actually battle trainers chances are a lot of those trainershave Pokemon that boost EVs. And don't forget the Macho Brace.

YoMama, EVERY Poke in the game has an EV point value. It isn't selective. Every single battle your Poke is involved in will yield whatever the value of that Poke is (i.e. Zubat yields 1 Spd EV).

    ................................................................

Anyway, go along with the game and you'll get EVs. 'Nuff said.

    Have a lousy day.
