Ev training problem. HELP ME!

Ok so I have been trying fruitlessly for days to ev train pokemon. I haven't made too much progress. I have a shiny Larvatar and I was going for speed and attack. I got some speed Evs and some attack, but then it stopped. I got the effort ribbon and everything. But I had one problem my attack and speed are in the 50s ( Larvatar is level 29). I mean I am glad it went up a little, but shouldn't it be alot higher? and why did it stop without me getting like 70 points in each stat. If you thoroughly help me I will give you your pick from a selection of pokemon.

Well an issue would possibly be that it isn't evolved yet. Or you made a flaw in your EV training. I got a question. Was the Larvitar's EV's clean or it had already obtained some? If so, then you should have used some EV decreasing berries to Maximize your training. Hope I helped..

You gain EVs gradually until you reach Lv. 100, they'll show themselves over time.

Keep leveling him up normally and he will express the stats. Pokemon can only gain a certain amount of points on each stat in a level-up.
