Now that I beat the game, I wanna start EV training my team. So am I supposed to breed new pokes, and start fresh, or can I use those in my team, the ones I beat the game with? The ones that I used to beat the game are the ones I want to EV train, but should I just breed them all? Maybe I could just use the EV subtracting berries.

I think it's better to start over with a new team, that way you can get the perfect nature and moveset.

The natures and movesets are all perfect, I've been preparing them since the begining of the game, but I can't help the EV's at the beginning. I'm thinking about using the berries, but...

use the ev reducing berries and then check their IV's. if the iv's are good with all the necessary stats with iv's over 20 then you can keep them. if not, and if they are female, you should breed for pokemon with better iv's, and even breed eggmoves while you're at it. that would be my suggestion.

breeding is only necessary if you want certain eggmoves and if you're looking for better iv's on your pokemon.

They actually have pretty good IV's. In all the right places. But how can I check to see how many EV's I have so far?

You can't check, unless you have written down the exact IVs for each pokemon, then you can do basic subtraction, which would be:

    Total Stat - IVs of "Attack" - Base Stat (x2 remember) = ??? Divide ??? by 4, = EVs

I tried to do it, but I messed up. Can someone give me an example of the math?

Well if you havent kept track of your Pokemons EVs it would impossible to calculate them. You could use an EV reducing berry until it has no effect.

as stated, there's no way to calculate your ev's if you haven't kept track. i mean if it took 10 berries to reduce a certain stat then you know it had at least 91 ev's in that stat and at most 100 ev's in that stat.. but there's no sure way, if that's what you want.

I see, I can use the different berries about 10 times each, assuming I had full 63 stat increase, right? Or would I have to use alot more in order to get rid of the EV's?

Basically, I'm asking if the berries effect the stats alone, subtracting 10 points each, or does it effect the EV's, leaving the stats alone?

Well effecting the EVs will definately have an impact on the stats. I didnt have to use all 20 berries to lower my Umbreons Special Defense. Just use it til it says it has no longer an effect. You will see a drops in stats though.

I get it. So to EV train my Torterra in HP & Defence from level 63, I should just give it berries in all other stats till I can't drug him anymore? Also, once my EV's go down, can I use those vitamins even though I used ten?

Yeah drug it til it says no lol. But I dont think you cna use vitamins anymore. Did you use vitamins on the stats that you will EV train it?

Well here is a little trick if you are goign for the 252/252/6 spread. Lower all the Evs in the stats you arnet going going to EV train. In your case Attack, Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed. Then add 6 EV points into one of those stats. Then just trian until you max out the EVs in HP and Defense. That way you save berries and the peril of Ev training.

Thanks, you guys are lifesavers. Now, I luckily did not use a single vitamin on anyone.
