Ok... so say for example i've completed Fire Red and want to give Mewtwo, Charizard, Jirach and Feraligtr the best EV training possible... how would I go about it?!

And I also have a few other questions...

? If you have to attack a specific pokemon to get a certain EV then what happens if I battle a differnt pokemon in the same area that gives a different EV?

? Do EV's get carried over to next level e.g If I get 5 power EV's then level up do I get the 1 EV carried over?

(may post more questions after these have been answered)

    Help very much appreciated! :D

as to ur first question, avoid those pokemon that dont give the ev u want.find out how many evs that pokemon gives and note it down.stop at 252 evs. as to ur 2nd question, i dont understand what u mean >.<. if ur saying that i fight 50 magikarps and get 50 speed evs. then i lvl up, i'll get 12 speed and have 2 evs left over.

    thats what I meant! ;)

So if I encounter a pokemon that I don't want EV's off I just run from battle? Change pokemon and still beat it?

You should run because if you change that pokeon will still gain experience and Evs

YEah they do. The EVs you gave it remain constant no matter what level you are. If you start training at Level 5, and don't see any like, +12 stat growths or anything, don't be discouraged, it is still working.

And yeah you could probably ask me anything about EVs. I'm good at EV training, and I managed to get a max HP Umbreon.

well i'll add ya to my list as i'm sure i'll have loads more questions... although i'm starting to understand a lot more of what ppl are going on about! ;) :P

I'll be a pokemon master in no time! ;) :S

And I think i'll put my charizard from my fire red game onto my leaf green so that I can EV train it to be the best possible! ;) (will need advice on best way to do that at some point ;))

If you change than you still get the effort points. You should run/whirlwind it away.
I always effort train in low level areas with Pok?mon who raise only one stat:

Speed: Route 1 (Pidgey/Rattata), Route 118/Cave of Origin (Golbat)
Attack: Mt Moon basement (Paras), Mt Pyre (Shuppet)
Defense: Route 21 (Tangela), Granite Cave Basement (Aron)
Special Attack: Lavender Tower (Gastly), Route 113 (Spinda)
Special Defense: Techtonix Pillar (Hoppip), pretty much any water in the game (Tentacool)
HP: Four Island (Wooper/Marill), Rusturf Tunnel (Whismur)

Do they all give 1 EV per battle? And does Haunter put up special attack too? (would be very convienient if it did!)

Route 118 is a mix of 1s and 2s. Haunter gives 2 points in SpAtk.
Personally, I don't like 2-pointers, since they mess up my points counting. I use PP consumption to count effort points, so I must get 1HKOs on Pok?mon who award 1 effort point each.

I'm thinking why is this in this section?

Anyway, best place for ATK and SPD is Pidgey and Rattata RT1 (speed), and Paras in the Basement of Mt.Moon (ATK)

It does come under Strategies, sort of. And for another source of HP EVs, Im pretty sure the bugs of Viridian Forest all give HP EVs.

It gives you EV's in what those pokemon give aswell, it's best to run from pokemon who give you EV's other than those you want.

    Yes.

If you don't count by PP (I would recommend just tallying each EV you earn), you will want to gain more EVs at once. If you give a pokemon the Macho Brace, it will gain EVs twice as fast. That's what most people use. Take care.
