3rd Gen Ev Training ?

Hi umm i just recently found out about Ev's (5 Min. Ago) and well i got a few questions to ask that i couldnt find on the web here they are.

1.can you still Ev train a pokemon even after its reached lvl 100 ?

2.Is thier a maximum number of Ev's i can earn or is there a limit ?

last one.

3.im Ev training my shelgon (lvl. 40 adamant nature) i battle about 30 spindas to try to get its its Sp att. up but if i got 1 ev for every 4 spindas i battled why did i only get +3 stat gain?

sorry this is the last one.

4.Are Ev stats in these games ?

1.Pokemon Emreald
2.Pokemon Diamond
3.Pokemon peral

1. I think you can't. You gain EVs when you gain EXP but when you're level 100 you don't get any EXP so you don't get any EVs.

2. Yes there is.

3. EVs get spread throughout your levels until 100.

4. Im pretty sure EVs are in all of them.

1. No. As mentioned above, as once reaching level 100, you no longer receive EXP points. Hence, no more EVs.

2. The total maximum number of EVs a Pokemon can have is 510EVs. The maximum per stat is 255EVs, but you tend to only have 252EVs at most anyway as that is the nearest number divisible by 4.

3. EVs are all evident by Level 100. If you're EV training at lower levels, the increases aren't as obvious.

4. Yes, they are present from any game in 3rd gen onwards.

Actually you are both very very wrong. ^^

I'll explain EVs in a little easier way for you okay.

Basically all stats are calculated by a formula that recalculates itself every time certain events occur (I'll be coming back to this in a second.) Remember that and I'll answer your questions here.

Absolutely! Granted by that point you will have probably filled up your EVs... but if you cheated and just rare candied it all the way to 100 then yes, you can still train EVs. Your stats will not show it at first, but if you make one of ^those^ events occur then the EVs will be recalculated into your stats and they will increase. Those events include; leveling, putting in and withdrawing from a PC, and others I don't know but those two will cover just about any problem you have.

This they were right about. Max is 510 total and 255 per stat. EVs are divided by four in the stat formula so 252, 252, 6 is the best EV ratio you can get stats out of.

Several reasons, one being that at level 40 you may very well be close to the EV limit. Other than that, here I keep mentioning this but I have never shown you.

The Stat Formula:
Stat = (((( BaseStat * 2 + IV + EV/4 ) * Level ) / 100 ) + 5 ) * P

This works for all the stats but HP which is a little different. Notice that you EVs are added in to you base stat and IV and then multiplied by your level. At Level 100 you will see the total gain from your EVs. Just trust me there, cause unless you rare candy a brand new never used pokemon to 100 then EV train it you won't be able to see it.

They are in all, and I know for a fact that what I said above is true for Emerald. I haven't been able to do in testing with Diamond or Pearl yet.
