I've been playing a series called "Thief" and thought wouldn't it be interesting to see a pokemon stealth game.

Thief is a stealth game that emphasizes on using the environment to sneak past enemies. It's an old but very interesting game that has its own fan-made missions and campaigns. In the real game, you have a sword, a bow, a club for knocking enemies unconscious with, and various potions and gadgets.

In the Pokemon game I'm thinking about, Pokemon (can be in teams) can use the shadows, quiet surfaces, distractions, and their Pokepowers to avoid enemies while completing their goals. One example would be that Ivysaur can use Vine Whip to strangle enemies and render them unconscious (I'm trying to make this idea as child-friendly as possible). Another would be Buizel using his water-type powers to put out a burning object, creating a nice shadowy area to hide in.

The ideal setting for this game would be in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. Suspense and ambiance would be a great thing to have in a stealth game. The level editor for Thief is DromEd, but you'll need the Thief CD (preferably the Thief 2 CD) to do anything.

The missions start out simple, but get more complex and sometimes scary as the story progresses. There are already Rescue Teams and Exploration Teams, but in this situation, a third type will be added, named a Stealth Team. When a job is too complex, dangerous, or sensitive for a regular team to handle, the stealth team is called in.

The stealth teams usually get the most challenging, the most frightening, or the most dangerous jobs because of their role. However, when they earn money for completed jobs, they lose only half of their earnings because of the stealth team's value.

In the game, each Pokemon type (no surprise) have their own strengths and weaknesses, only in this case, it will be stealth-related. Also, size will become a factor in how well a Pokemon can hide or sneak around quietly.

If you want to know how the game I'm thinking of is designed to work, watch the video below:

Feedback and constructive criticism is welcomed.

It's an interesting idea, and one I've not heard before. I'm currently playing the first Thief game, so I know what the gameplay entails... I personally wouldn't want to develop something like that, but if you want to I'd be all for it.
