Evolution and evolved forms with different hidden abilities?

Okay, I'm either impressively ignorant after well over a decade playing pokemon games on and off casually, or I'm being duped.

Give me the straight poop: if I have a pokemon with a hidden ability, and it's evolved form has a different hidden ability, will I get the different hidden ability upon evolving, or does it revert to a regular ability?

it changes to the new hidden ability, once hidden, always hidden

Yep, it'll always have the hidden ability unless its evolved form doesn't have a hidden ability (e.g. Trapinch-->Vibrava).

Also, this is a fairly broad question that applies to the entire main series as a whole, so I'm moving it over to Pokémon Gaming Central :)

Thanks PurpleOrange and Sopheria :-) I can't believe I'm still learning I know too little after all these years, heh.

But this is going to make a bunch of pokemon viable that I had dismissed out of hand. In a way it's cool. A new bit of the game just opened for me! To my pokeballs and trapper pokemon! It's time to catch!
