6th Gen Evolution/Pre-evolution Speculation

Unless! There's a fire type speed increasing move in the sun ;) But in general Rapidash is still really powerful, and in sun it's good enough for OU even, and I think giving it an evolution would make it too strong, unless it was specially-based.
 
How about a evolution for Granbull that's Dark or Normal/Dark (I think plain old Dark would be better as having N/D,would give it a 4x weakness against fighting). I feel like Johto's Pokémon would have some interesting evolutions, and sure gen 4 gave them some but a few more would be good. Also an evolution for Loppuny that is Fighting, and Carnivine having one that is Grass/Dark. Also a Purugly evolution based on beauty where it regains it's majestic look, and is Dark type.
 
I'd love to see one for Granbull actually. I always thought it had a Dark type appearance to it, so giving a third evolution and giving it either that second typing or just a total type change would be great. Same goes for Carnivine actually.
 
I also feel like Mawhile should have been part Dark type, hopefully if they do make an evolution for Mawhile they'll make it part Dark.

Gen IV gave several classical favorites evolutions, I wonder if this generation will do that beyond just Eevee.
A thought just occured to me, what if this generation will only have one or two evolutions...in other words pull a generation 3 on us (only 3 had pre-evos)...

I agree with Mawile! However that'd greatly increase it's fighting weakness, and while it has intimidate it doesn't really make too much of a difference, and if the evolution has that, well, ya. :(
 
They may be able to come up with a way to balance it out though. A rapidash evolution would be nice but it isn't necessary even though i would love to have a gray Pegasus( i have a shiny rapidash) and it would just be cool either way. I also would like to see a stantler and castform evolution they are cool normal types but not that strong. Also maractus and chatot should get one.

Granbull getting an evo would be really nice. He's definitely in need of one. His attack is already 120 though which makes me wonder exactly what would happen to him to make him better. Giving him a Dark secondary typing would be a nice start for sure by giving him that alternate STAB. Maybe increasing his SpD and Speed would help a lot. He already has Intimidate for his Defensive needs, but he's severely lacking in Special Defense. A boost to his Speed would be great for abusing Quick Feet a bit better. Doubling a base 45 speed doesn't necessarily seems worth the Toxic Orb drawbacks.

I can definitely see him getting one, but it's very possible he wont' because I view him as an often overlooked pokemon.
 
You all realize that Rapidash's BST is only 500, right? With a Base Speed of 105?

And Zebstrika has a BST of 499, with a Base 116 Speed?

Both have 100 in Attack and 80 in Sp. Atk with rather frail defenses on both sides and unremarkable HP. They could certainly benefit from evolutions. Something like:

Rapidash Evolution:
HP: 75
Atk: 80
Def: 75
Sp.Atk: 120
Sp.Def: 80
Speed: 120
BST: 550

Higher Sp.Atk in exchange for Attack and slightly better Defenses with a much higher Speed.

Zebstrika Evolution:
HP: 75
Attack: 120
Def: 85
Sp.Atk: 80
Sp.Def: 70
Speed: 120
BST: 550

Reverse Rapidash, basically.

The two would essentially be glass cannons in OU, but they'd be viable.
 
I don't really understand the need for pre-evolutions. I could understand a very small amount of the current Pokemon getting pre-evos, but really, they are quite useless in my opinion. If we are going to get new pokemon it should contribute to the game. I just feel like pre-evos would be a waste. It gets old quick, they evolve to the same old thing, it's just quite boring. That's my view of it anyways.

I would appreciate evolutions for the following Pokemon though..
- Sunflora
- Corsola
- Kricketune (I think they could pull off something amazing with this, and I hope to god they do, because most people forget this thing exists!)
- Lumineon
- Mawile
- Banette

These are the type of Pokemon I want to see evolutions from. Ones that need it. Not Pokemon that are already easily strong enough on their own. It's team for the ones we forget about all to much to get some love.
 
I'd quite like a Skarmory evolution, sure its defences are amazing but it needs more attack power, 80 base stat wise just doesn't cut it.

Then again, remember that pre-evolutions = pokemon that can use evolite, so that can be something worth investing!

That was where the whole "possible evolution of Skarmory" debate sort of started.

Kanga's good as it is but it could definitely be stronger and a special Kanga, being the father, would likely have a shy/scared design because it obv ran away from the mother.
 
If anything kanghasan should be connected to the cubone family based on appearance of baby kanghasans and the missingno theory. So i would want gen 6 to connect them.
 
Evolution of Pachirisu or Ditto - it would be awesome to see Ditto evolve into like a black or red blob that could use a more powerful form of Transform that would allow you added benefits like maybe having full PP of moves you copy.

Agreed it would be awesome it could do a Grimer:
Grimer is a pile of slime, and evolves into a bigger pile of slime.
Ditto is a blob, and would evolve into a bigger blob. so it could have some decent stats and a more powerful form of Transform

Don't forget Kekcleon and Castfrom evolutions. Oh and I almost forgot Rotom.
 
Rotom evolution I actually want. As long as it can keep changing formes, an evolution to that would be awesome, and the current formes would be much stronger.
