Explosion and Earthquake are probably the 2 most destructive moves a pokemon can know. In the pokemon games, when a pokemon uses Explosion, the building doesn't demolish. Same thing for Earthquake.

In the real world, however, if there is a bomb inside a building, it will explode. Hopefully, this building would no longer be needed, just like in a demolition. And according to my knowledge, earthquakes are supposed to be more powerful than explosions.

So, is it that pokemon generated explosions and earthquakes are 10 times as weak as real explosions and earthquakes? And that's the reason why buildings in the pokemon world don't get demolished by pokemon?

if you measure the power of earthquakes in comparison to explosions, cube it and divide by each other....
    its just a game

no but seriously, it probly dosnt because then by the end of the game, ther would be no-where to go cos itd all be demolished. And pokemon would be dead. lots of pika corpses....

Every building in the Pokemon world has a construction crew on standby in case some foolhardy trainer has their pokemon use Earthquake or Explosion or Surf for that matter inside of it. ^_^

I just call it Nintendo logic and leave it at that.

I'd say that when a Pokemon uses EQ or Explosion, it still exerts a lot of force, but not enough force to destroy nearby objects.

Think all of this is happening in a bubble!

It's maaaaaagic! Pokemon are wonderful creatures fiiilled with maaaaaaaaagiiiiiic....

%^$%& Pokemon, how do they work? :cheeky:

    :P

An explosion is energy going outward at high speeds, an earthquake is a wave going through a dense medium. /nerdiness

But in the pokemon games, both of those moves damage all pokemon, like in double battles. So I guess it has a certain close distance that it affects pokemon, and the rest is safe? :S

And if the trainers are really close by, how come they aren't killed affected bit it?

*uses explosion and earthquake on top floor of Silph Co.* XD

You know that black screen you get when you win the battle? That's the official pokemon watchers gassing the place. While you and your opponent are knocked out, they clean up the place: replace the windows, sweep the floor of debris, fix the walls etc. with the help of pokemon for specific demands.

After that, they melt in the shadows and watch the rest of the match. All thanks to tax payers =3
