Issue: Fan games cause black screen/crash

Hi all, I seem to have an issue with some Pokemon fangames (namely Rejuvenation and Vanguard that I can remember right now) where while the game is open, my laptop screen will suddenly go black for a few seconds. For Vanguard, it causes the game to close entirely while the screen is black (no crash report window or anything opens). I love Pokemon and I love the creativity that fan game creators exhibit, so I want to continue to be able to play their games, but I have no idea what could be causing this issue or how to fix it. If anyone else has experienced this and/or knows a fix, please let me know.
I'm playing on an acer nitro 5, very much a gaming laptop that has no issues running much beefier games.

Hi - this section of the forum is not for issues like these, but for issues when using the forum (hence the notice at the top of the section advising it isn't for fangames etc.)

When in doubt, you should always look for the corresponding game threads here to post in, or for things like their Discord servers and such. They will be able to answer a lot better than we can as we are not involved with any of these projects directly.
