I was wondering if anyone was a fan of Japanese Drama shows, for example: Sexy Voice And Robo, The Quiz Show, Love Game, Lair Game, Call Center no Koibito. Ok i could name more and more as I have watched quiet a few of them myself, I'm a big fan of them. Anybody watched any of the ones I named or maybe you have seen one or two you'd like to share!

(I think this is the right post to post a thread like this >.> <.<)

I've only seen a couple. None that are too recent and none that you mentioned.

I watched some of Gokusen, but never consistently. I just liked that it had Nakama Yukie and Namase Katsuhisa in it. They were both in Trick and I love that show (and its movies). Trick is pretty smart for a comedy so it's excellent.

Another one I liked was Koi ga Shitai (or Love Love Love, or whatever it gets called). Also kind of old, but it was fun.

Hmmmm... the first J-drama I've watched was Hana Kimi. Then I went crazy and watched around 20 dramas right after that. x]

Hana Kimi and Hana Yori Dango are hands down my two favorite J-dramas.

I've seen quite a number of them, though.

My faaavorite drama is Coffee Prince, buuut it's Korean, sooo.. guess it has no place in this thread.

As much as I like Hana Kimi, it was a pretty terrible show. XD; The characters were fun and got into really amusing situations, but from a more critical point of view, the show really was not all that great. Though, it did make me a fan of a ton of actors, so that was cool.

My favorites are probably 14 Sai no Haha, Bloody Monday and Cat Street.

I want to get into some J-Dramas, but I'm not sure where to start. Can anyone recommend me some? If it helps, I tend to dislike dramas that are excessively focused on humour, but I also dislike ones that almost lack it. I prefer a nice balance between comedy and "serious business" moments. XD So, any suggestions?

In the meantime I'll look up the ones mentioned here. XD

I think Honey and Clover is the perfect choice for you since it mostly is a dramatic story but has a bit of humor thrown in. I'm not a fan of Japanese humor and never really have been (I...just don't get it) so it's hard to find series that don't go over the top in the humor, but I think this one has a nice amount of subdued (by Japanese standards) humor that's tossed in to balance out the tone of the story.

That said, it's an uber depressing show, so you might want to have a few rainbows and puppies handy at the end of each episode. It's basically the story of an unrequited love and coming to copes with what that can do to relationships.

^ I loved what I saw of Honey and Clover, or at least found it really enjoyable.

To this day I haven't seen it all, but I do prefer to the drama to the anime or manga.
(That seems to be the case with most dramas I watch..)

H&C is definitely one of the dramas up on the list of ones that people should see, though.~

Anyone seen any of the Gokusen drama?

I'm a big Japanese dorama fan.
Though i'm more of a fan of the 90s dramas.
My favorite actress is Yonekura Ryoko.
My first drama was seikei bijin.
And some of my favs are koibito yo, Around 40, queens class room, SCANDAL, Nyokei kazoku and many more.

I prefer older shows, to be honest, but some I like now are Honey and Clover, GTO, Cat Street, and some others which I cannot remember due to the annoying bird at my balcony.
