I've actually never played a GBC game apart from Pokémon, but I've played quite a few GBA games. My favourites have to be Super Mario Advance 2 and Sonic Advance 1 & 2. All three of those games are super-addicting and can keep me busy for a really, really long time. XD;

They don't really make most of their games, they localize alot of games made by Japanese companies that don't have branches outside of Japan.
