Dragons definitely, they make any mythical/fantasy story, well.....mythical or fantasy-like :P
Not to mention that they just solidy RULE!! They can fly, become a living flamethrower, and are TOTALLY unstoppable.

Griffin- Awesome bird /lion thing made by da gods.
Basilisk- Giant chicken lizard. o.o When you look at him you turn to stone or something like that.
Phoenix- Giant fire bird thing. Just plain awesome.
Chupacabra- Scared the s*** out of me when I saw a model of it on the History channel. It seems so real though, because there are tooth marks in the goats they never seen before. Plus there is just so much evidence and sightings.

Dragons and the Phoenix. The Dragon- It's big, it can fly, and it's really strong. The Phoenix- I LOVE FIRE!!!!! and it is so beautiful when you see it.
