Post your favorite pokemon video game you have ever played!

Tell us your favorite game, along with why you like it so much.

Tell us about why its your favorite game, other than:

"It was my first game ever"

"D/P just came out, so I like them"

    "D/P has Wi-Fi"

Try to come up with better answers than the obvious. Thanks!

I've played the original Pokemon games for Gameboy, but after that i lost interest. After Sapphire was release, i came back in. Firered and Leafgreen i skipped cuz i was poor back then. I then got Emerald and since not many of my friends played pokemon i lost interest again, but when Diamond came out with Wifi, my spirit was restored and I havent been this active with the game since, I guess i like the fact its portable and connected.

    Firered Version.
The Kanto Region and the original 150 Pokemon are the best by far. It's nice to have the old Pokemon and the old game with better graphics. Plus you can add some of the newer Pokemon you like to it too (espeon anyone?) by trading.

Cool Espeon Master. I would want to play Leafgreen (that I own) also, but theirs a few things holding me back, considering im a perfectionist.

    -no time
    -no day/night/morning
    -none of the new pokemon

Stuff like that. But they are really good games.

    Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.
It has lots of unique and tropical-looking pokemon, it's part of the advanced generation, and that gen brought us the new art style for the anime, the new style for the official game art, and more.
The game's music is very nice, and I love to listen to it a lot. My favorite music from the games are: "routes 119, 120",
"Slateport city", "Mawville city", "route 110", and much, much more.
The game also brought me Treecko, Grovyle, and Sceptile, my favorite pokemon.

Cool, those games did bring a whole new outlook on pokemon. I love the way that Pearl and Diamond are realistic, but it doesnt give me that same feeling as when I play the old ones. (anything B4 Pokemon P/D)

My favourite Pokemon game I ever played is Pokemon FireRed Version. Because it has old Pokemons with better sprites, legendary Pokemons and new Pokemons from the Johto region to catch.

Gold and Silver. They introduced some of the most important and coolest game mechanics. I love the characters, gym leaders, story, and how you can travel back to Kanto plus Johto is my favorite region. The only thing is that the E4 don't get better after you finish with the Kanto gyms but that's where Red comes in.

Crystal was my favorite, I loved the day and night system (which has made a come back), I love Jhoto, and it's based off my favorite legendary dog.

i would have to say Diamond/Pearl. ive been playing pokemon all my life and this one beats the others because of stuff such as better graphics, better legendaries, and just better over-all gameplay...

Crystal for me, and then maybe Colosseum and Ranger. It was good to get away from the normal gameplay on those two for a while.

Crystal. It has my favorite land, gym leaders, It introduced moving pokemon sprites, and I like the storyline! :P

    I like Pearl, but I also like Sapphire. xD;

    Pokemon Diamond Owns

Ok Pokemon Diamond is probably the best pokemon game,if they ever come out with a nintendo ds remake of pokemon gold and silver i may like that game but right now Pokemon Diamond is my fav....oh and is anyone trading a shiny Gyrados for a lv 50 and over munchlax i seen it but i lost em.... just checking

I dont know why people always use other peoples threads for asking for trades.......Or battles....Use your own thread.

Pokemon Crystal. It introduced the female character, had moving sprites, had Day and Night, had Suicune as the main character of the legend, and it was my 2nd game. Yup, definitaly Crystal.

    POKÉMON GOLD HANDS DOWN.

It was perfect. Sure, the graphics aren't up to par with today but...it gave you access to a whole new world, introduced the day/night system (one of my favourite parts), started us off with the ability to re-battle trainers, brought us new Pokémon, breeding, sidequests... It didn't concentrate as heavily on legendaries as the other games (one of my least favourite parts of current games), it still let you trade backwards to the previous version, and best of all--it had TWO regions. You weren't stuck in the one, you could travel back to Kanto. Sure, Kanto had changed, but I looove it when games show you an area after several years or something. It's so...nostalgic. xD So yeah. Gold was my favourite game~

As for non-RPG games, Pokémon Snap wins easily in that respect. XD

Original r/b/g. when they first came out, it was so new, and i doubt that anyone ever put the game down until they beat it (i know i didnt) and not knowing what's going to happen next was just a great feeling for me. I remember bringing my gb to school and fighting gym leaders under my desk and trading with my friends at recess. Great times :)

    Lol

Lol, the old games were some of the best I agree. I wanted to get Wi-Fi for Pokemon Diamond, and a few days later I figured out, (call me dumb) that I need a different internet connection! Of course, I hated that. They make people go to nintendo events, today they make people buy so many things to keep them playing, but everyone forgets about the old games. They are to busy with the new graphics, and trading abilities and what not. Besides, some of the pokemon today dont even look like pokemon lol.
