Favorite Reality Shows

    I think a few people sometimes mix up reality television with only shows that are like Survivor, Big Brother, Fear Factor, The Real World, and Jersey shore. In actuality reality television covers a wide range of programs that can really vary in what they are about. For example The Deadliest Catch, Pawn Stars, and America's next Top Model are all reality television shows that have little in common. In a pretty straightforward definition a reality show is, "programming that presents purportedly unscripted dramatic or humorous situations, documents actual events, and usually features ordinary people instead of professional actors."

    So now that we got that completely out of the way, what are your favorite reality shows? Do you even like or watch reality shows? If so why? Feel free to include programs that are no longer airing.

    Some favorites of my own are
    - Survivor
    - Fear Factor
    - America's next Top Model
    - Deadliest Catch
    - Chopped
    - Jersey Shore (guilty pleasure) :D
     
    I would have to say, at the very top is The Mole. That show was amazing. I don't think it's around any more though. :(
    I also agree with Survivor, and I kind of like America's Next Top Model but when I watch it I don't pay attention to anything except the photos and the hilarity of the drama. Lol. :P
    Then again I no longer pay attention to Survivor now either. I have a small TV attention span unless it's hilarious like Scrubs.

    My mother also watches Project Runway, and a lot of other fashion- and homeowner-related reality shows. And Clean House, but that doesn't count because it's clearly scripted.

    America's Best Dance Crew, I hate the views the show takes on the dance community, but its a really cool show nonetheless.

    EDIT: Totally forgot Jersey Shore, I can't get through that show without laughing through just about all of it.
     
    Survivor series (not the wrestling the one on the Island) PURE AWESOMENESS! I hate Sandra. Pavarti FTW!
     
    Survivor Philippines, Big Brother, Jersey Shore, America's Best Dance Crew. I forgot the others but I love to watch reality shows. :D
     
    Forensic Files. A show that documents real life crime mysteries and how investigators solved them. I enjoy it because I have an interest in criminal investigations.

    Also the old "World's Wildest Police Chases" show. PIT Maneuvers and spike strips FTW.
     
    Does Deadliest Warrior count? It certainly dons the format of a reality show. But anyway, I love history and combat has always been a large part of humanity's existence (positive or not). The weapons testings are awesome to watch and the choreographed battles at the end are just...whoa, GAR if I do say so myself. Otherwise, I'm not much of a fan of reality shows. Not my kind of entertainment, usually.

    I do not watch a lot of reality shows, but I do enjoy the Survivor series and the Bachelor something one; forgot its name.
