What particular RPG game or games, have you played that are just your personal favorite?

For me I would have to say Wild Arm 3, a unique game set in the western times, that follows the traditional turned based formula that has worked for so many years... but this time with guns XD.

The first and second Golden Sun also deserve a mention, orginal game for the GBA.. hope they continue it for the DS ^^, and finally Dragonquest VIII, even though I only played the demo.. it was quite good! XD

The Final Fantasy games are top of the pile for me, but I'm also a fan of Shadow Hearts, Shin Megami Tensei and Breath of Fire. Dragon Quest VIII will undoubtedly become another firm favourite when it's released here in the UK next month.

Tales of Symphonia, Pokemon Crystal, Pokemon Leaf Green, Kingdom Hearts, some countless Mario games...and more. I mostly prefer ToS & KH. Awesome characters~ =P

    Mario isn't a RPG except for Super Mario RPG Lily XD;

I'll go over some hidden jems of the SNES World...

Seiken Densetsu 3- the best RPG that doesn't use the standard turn system such as Final Fantasy. No idea how its sequels that live today (legend of mana, sword of mana) suck so bad, but this ancestor is a must-play. It's very easy to find online, translated into english by fans. Yes, it's one of the rare games that never got made into english, but it's loved so much that people worked their butt off to get out a translation for it. It's action RPG with an amazing battle system and easy controls.

Lufia 2- what Golden Sun series *wants* to be but never succeeded in doing so, except for graphics (Lufia 2 got no job system though.) While the overrated gba rpg series got puzzles that are an insult to your intelligence, Lufia 2 puzzles can take hours and hours to solve with lots of practice, such as the fire arrow puzzle. The only possible complaint about this game is the difficulty being too easy, just like Golden Sun, but, that's why there's the insane Ancient Dungeon...

And there's probably more... just need to remember them.

I loved Super Mario RPG (SNES), Final Fantasy VII (PSONE), Chrono Trigger (SNES), Landstalker (GEN), and Dark Savior (SATURN).

Pokemon Crystal, Paper Mario, Final Fantasy X, Pokemon Ruby, Zelda Wind Waker

And this, sir, is where I must prove you wrong.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is technically an RPG.
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time is also a recent one.
Mario Sunshine is also considered an RPG.
    So is Paper Mario.
And Paper Mario deux, the Thousand-Year Door.

    Pwned kthxbai. <3

    [psst...stalking my posts? ^_^]

Paper Mario 1/2 and M&L: SS/PIT are definitely RPGs. Mario Sunshine is a platformer though. Nothing more.
