Home Made Kazoku, Flow, Yuka Saegusa in db, and Tommy february6 are really good. All their songs are amazing.
 
I used to listen to a bunch of J-Pop/Rock, but now I usually only catch my favorite artists such as Utada Hikaru, Crystal Kay, Nami Tamaki, and Asian Kung-Fu Generation.

My favorite artists are MINMI and Lia~ Tori no Uta & Shiki no Uta forever!~
My favorite band has to be L'arc~en~Ciel, my favorite songs by them are Anemone, STAY AWAY, and Lies and Truth are awesome as well!
 
I don't really listen to j-rock that much. Just sometimes. But here's some of my favourites:

I second that.

I don't know many J-Pop Artists, sadly.
But I know Utada Hikaru, and I do listen to a lot of her music, especially the Kingdom Hearts theme songs she did.

I do prefer J-Music over a lot of others, simply because I think that Japanese is lovely to hear when sung. Even if I can't understand it. xD
 
HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR is my all-time favorite. "PRIDE" made me fall in love with them and the female lead singer, Maki. XD

Other Japanese artists that I like are

Tainaka Sachi (her songs for Fate/stay night were beautifully sung)
Jyukai (same as above for them, and Busou Renkin as well)
Hirano Aya (though I'm not sure you can count her..."God knows..." was awesome)
angela (does a lot of mecha anime)
Younha (Korean, but I only listen to her Japanese songs)
YUI (beautiful singing with a wide range of emotion)
Tamaki Nami (guilty pleasure really, but I just love "Reason")
Mizuki Nana (I just got into her. "Justice to Believe" loops constantly.)
Do As Infinity (An old favorite for most.)
FictionJunction YUUKA (Yay for Gundam SEED and .hack)
See-Saw (ditto)
savage genius ("Forever..." gets stuck in my mind)
and several others I can't remember right now.

All of them have done songs for anime that I like, but I do listen to and love their other songs afterwards.
