Few questions

I have a Wii, and I'm thinking of this game, but before I go and spend 50$ on it, I'd like to know some things.

- I don't have a DS Lite, just a normal DS, will it still be compatiable?

- Is it still fun even if you have nobody but the computer to play with? My mom is the only one in the house other than myself, and she's not too fond of video games, so she wouldn't play. Plus, unless they where my friends, I don't fancy playing too much online, either. People take it too seriously.

- What are the good and bad things about the game? If the good outweighs the bad, then I feel it's worth it.

Forgive me if I could just, "look these up", but I havn't been sucked into the hype as most everyone has been, because I havn't heard or read about it much, to avoid spoilers.

1. Yes, it will be.

2. Well, there is the wireless factors, including a random-matchup feature, but as far as the single player goes...that depends. If you found Stadium fun, then certainly. If you didn't,...maybe. The Colosseum's quirks might either appeal to you or make you tear your hair out, depending on which one you're looking at (for example, Neon = HATE).

3. Um...other than the Wi-Fi factors?

Good:

-3D battles
-Customizable Trainers
-10 different Colosseums with plenty of challenges
-Amazing graphics for certain attacks, such as Solarbeam
-You can turn the "announcer" off
-Unlockable Pokemon, including (but not limited to) a Surfing Pikachu
-Certain items & berries made easily-accessible

Bad:

-Neon Colosseum's roulette (only viable if you use your own Pokemon)
-...Certain graphics apparently disgust certain people (again, only applies if you use them...and no, none of your team applies)
-You might find yourself running out of battery power on your remote very fast and at bad times
-The "announcer" only has a few lines to select, and mispronounces some Pokemon names

Overall, if you have $50 to spend...I'd suggest getting it. Then again, you can always rent it first or something if you aren't sure...

So, by unlockable pokemon, do you mean to play with in the game, or could you catch it and keep it for Diamond and Pearl?
Also, what's so bad about the Neon?
As I've said, I've read absolutly nothing on this, so even Neon is a bit over my head. Is he a certain trainer?
Well, it's true about the random battles, I suppose.
Hrm.
I may rent it to see how it flys, then get it if I like it.
Although I've never had to do that with a game before.

"Neon" isnt a certain trainer, it's the name of a Colosseum.

The bad thing is that there is a roulette where your Pokemon and your opponents are mixed, it spins and you press A (Or some button) at a time back and forth between your opponent to choose your Pokemon.

The bad thing is that your opponent could end up with yuor hardly trained EV Pokemon whilst you get their Cruddy Pokemon...

It's hard and requires extreme luck and timing

No, I mean to use in Diamond & Pearl, which you can then copy onto PBR and use there.

Neon Colosseum's just a real pain to go through. It involves a roulette. Enough said.

I also forgot to mention: you can actually get a copy of your Wi-Fi opponent's team to use in the single player mode (whether you played them through the "random select" feature or not), if they let you. As far as renting the game, this game still uses the Friend Code system, so there would be that problem...ehh, I say just buy it.

Overall, it's kind of like Diamond & Pearl: fun on its own, but the Wi-fi factors make it a LOT better.

In short, pretty much yes.

you should note that there is NO STORY MODE for the game. If you dont like games where you cant walk around and associate, this game isnt for you. Other then that, i'd say this game gets an amazing 9/10 on my scoreboard.

Just ones that affect how you battle, kind of like the Battle Frontier from Emerald (as a matter of fact, that would probably be a good analogy to describe the game: a huge Battle Frontier with Wi-Fi & trainers that you can customize...oh, and no rule against Legendaries). For example, the roulette, one Colosseum that randomizes the order of your Pokemon (essentiallly turning the battle into best-3-out-of-5 1v1 battles), and even one that mirrors the Battle Factory.

Or have you not played Emerald?

Nope, I've played emerald.
I always thought of it as a big pokemon battling carnival, so, is that what it's like?
Well, the no storyline is a little disapointing, but for the most part the Pokemon Stadium games didn't either, and I liked those just fine.

"Battling carnival"...? Um, no, I don't think I'd describe it that way. It's pretty much like a more expanded version of the Battle Frontier (without the Pokemon limitations), with ten different sections, a couple of which change once you beat all 10. ...Although there is a 100-trainer gauntlet like in the GCN games...but that's kind of optional.

If you liked the Stadium games, then you'll DEFINITELY enjoy this one. That I can guarantee.

I had to get my mom to ship mine to me and she did last Wednesday FIRST CLASS through USPS and I still haven't recieved it yet...

I have to wait through agonizing Sunday, and then The Mail wait starts again Day after Tomorrow....
