Fighting Games!

Anyways, I think Dead or Alive 4 has recently come out, so has anybody played it?

Umm... no, it hasn't. DoA 4 is to be released on XBox 360, which will not even be released until November. So nobody outside of Tecmo has played it.

I guess I'll have to wait till November then...

Ya mean Kart Fighter? Yeah, that was pretty wiggy.

ya... i'm not sure whether to get a 360 or ps3. one's coming out with tekken 6 and the other with DOA4... it'll be a tough choice.

I'd suggest a obtaining a PS3 before a X360, because that's what I'm going to do.

we're starting a 90s club at my school, and we're going to have a marvel vs. capcom tournament (it was 99). i hope i win... otherwsie i may have to kill myself.

Odds bodkins, I hope you don't mean that literally...

This just in... in Street Fighter Zero 3 Double Upper for PSP... the game will not only add Yun, Eagle, and Maki from the GBA version of Upper, but Ingrid from Capcom Fighting Jam as well!
 
I haven't really played that many fighting games, and honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the genre. However, I seem to find Soul Calibur II quite entertaining, and it's pretty hard to not like Super Smash Bros. or Super Smash Bros. Melee.
 
I classify it as a "platform fighter" or "action fighter". Other games that are in that classification are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Melee, Power Stone, and Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects.

Street Fighter- Area, Twelve, Ken Masters
Virtua Fighter- Pai Chan, Aoi Umenokouji, Goh Hinogami
Super Smash Bros.- Sheik, Captain Falcon, Ness
Capcom Fighting Evolution- Chun-Li, Ingrid, Felicia
Darkstalkers- Hsien-Ko, B.B. Hood, Jon Talbain
Mortal Kombat- Havik, Cyrax, Sektor
Battle Arena Toshinden- Eiji, Vermillion, Sofia
Marvel vs. Capcom 2- Spiral, Son Son, Dark Sakura
 
Holy mother, I didn't know anybody but me liked Havik & Son Son.

Havik is the tricky character of the game plus he's wild!!!!!

Son Son was cool because she is pretty useful and pretty funny...odd that it reminds me of Goku in Dragonball....
 
Now that you've mentioned Marvel VS. Capcom, I shall be forced to rant.

It was a decent game as far as fighters go, as well as an interesting idea. However, Capcom did not include a single character from the Breath of Fire series, which is in my opinion Capcom's best series. And here is this crossover game that has no blue-haired Ryu, no Nina, no nothing from an awesome series. That just got me kind of... angry.

Well thats pretty much how it is in any Capcom crossover unfortunatly, like Capcom vs. SNK 2... so many capcom characters got screwed over and all we had from another series, insted of street fighter was Rival Schools, and that was just one character at that XD

Oh well maybe the next one (if any), will have more variety but you gotta respect Marvel vs. Capcom for their efforts to include Megaman, Strider, Tronbon etc.

Don't forget Morrigan, who used the same ol' sprite they've been using for her for about a decade now!

Capcom Fighting Evolution could have been SO much more... insted we got a toned down version of what was basically CVS2.. if only the Capcom would open their eyes and make 2D sprites for characters like Dante, Viewtiful Joe etc.. Get it together Capcom! (let's not forget what series made you the most money!)

I hate to say this, but it does not look like we will be seeing a new Street Fighter in the horizen.. well not for now at least, until someone there actually knows that it still has a somewhat major fanbase.. and everybody who plays fighting game knows about SAtreet Fighter so a new release would be huge! Especially with Guilty Gear graphics, a new engine, and new characters.

The question is.. what would everyone want in a new Street Fighter?
