[PokeCommunity.com] Final Fantasy XV Launches September 30th, Demo Released Today

Final Fantasy XV will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 30, a GameSpot video (now private, backup here) published ahead of Square Enix's "Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV" event tonight has leaked.

Gematsu exclusively shared news of the September 30 release earlier this month.

A new demo, which first leaked this morning, will be available today, where you control a younger Noctis as he journeys through a dreamscape. According to Square Enix, the demo is meant to show off the game's final visuals and combat system. If you finish it, you'll get an exclusive Carbuncle summon for use in Final Fantasy XV. It's actually the only way to unlock Carbuncle in the full game.

The official announcement is expected at tonight's "Uncovered" event, which will be held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles at 7:00 p.m. PT / 10:00 p.m. ET.

Well this is a nice little surprise. Granted, I'm still a bit iffy about the game's combat system as I don't feel it's as smooth or quick as it should be (in the very limited time that I played the first demo), but the world itself is absolutely beautiful. The designers certainly have an eye for gorgeous environments. I suppose I'll be seeing whether it's worth taking a dip after the demo.

How about you? Interested? Excited even? Incredibly Indifferent?

EDIT: It's also getting a 5 episode long anime prequel and, supposedly, a prequel movie. To go with that Prequel demo. Oh dear.

I might have to buy a PS4 even if I have no vested interest in the FF series as a whole just for tis game.

0:10 - Leviathan? Another potential summon?
0:58 - collosal TITAN D: There's a stone Titan referenced in the first demo iirc, it looks... fun. o_o
2:15 - Noctis isn't in control? Will we get to play as other people? :c

Finally, something is happening with this game. (Huge Final Fantasy dork here)

I think all this marketing is pretty cool and I look forward to hopefully seeing the anime be dubbed into English. Of course, I'll have to get a PS4 before I can play a demo and that might be for some time. Even though I'm quite skeptical of Square these days, I do think all of this is nice. Totally going to eventually play the demo because Carbuncle is my favorite summon and I must have him. :3 I kind of hope they make some kind of plushie of that version, because it's adorable.

So I played the demo. o____o pretty odd.

The fighting mechanics have changed a fair bit since the launch of the first demo. And the first use of magic was fun? Confused as to how its working exactly - do you have to collect energy or make spells or something?

For those who can't play, you get "Fire x 1" given to you at one stage - but that's literally one use. You can get more but its just something I found annoying :c. ESPECIALLY when when I managed to swing one of my balls of fire in completely the wrong direction, somehow.

Bumping, if only because I'm a bit floored that no one has anything to say about this.

Maybe the mighty truly have fallen.

    I also played the demo.

It's Kingdom Hearts now. I also wish the guarding wasn't automatic and you had a bit more control over your character's maneuverability.

But we'll see, they don't give you too much to work with in the demo. And, too it's credit, it was absolutely beautiful.
