on fire red and leaf green the story line is a bit rubbish because all you do is collect gym badges and just destroy team rocket
and on ruby and sapphire you have to stop team magma and aqua from awakening the legendary pokemon groudon and kyogre why cant fire red and leaf green be like that.

what do you think of the story line

The only reason why it's like that is because it's a remake of the original Red/Green/Blue/Yellow games, which was about going out to collect Gym Badges and defeating Team Rocket. It can't have a different storyline because the originals didn't have a different storyline. =/

And anyway, considering the fact that RSE and DP both involve stopping the awakening of a legendary Pokemon by (insert evil team here), I'm actually a little happy that FrLg is something different and separate. Rather than having to go through the cliche battle (which everyone and their mother has written about in fanfiction as well), you have your character stopping the blinking mafia from taking over Kanto. They even take over Saffron City halfway through the game, which is more than even Galactic's "we're here but no one cares" in Veilstone. Sure, Team Rocket gets more kick-tail in GSC when they take over the Lake of Rage and Goldenrod (effectively shutting down the latter), but still, at least they're not doing something so cliche antagonist as trying to attain godly powers to shape the world to their liking. How many evil villains in media have done that? Seriously.

I actually prefer having Team Rocket in the storyline over people like Team Aqua/Magma. Team Rocket was the original enemy team, and I think that's why I like it. To me, Team Aqua and Team Magma are just weird.

Though it was fun trying to calm the legendaries in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, it was also fun capturing the legendaries in FireRed/LeafGreen. I also found capturing the Unown in the Sevii Islands rather interesting. In the end, I think the storylines balance out with each other.

To me, it's because the Team Rockets are only dealing with ordinary Pokemon.
Unlike Magma/Aqua, who dealt with Groudon/Kyogre.
    Or Galactic, with Dialga/Palkia..
It makes the Rockets seem a bit lame. No legendaries? At least Mewtwo/The trio birds.

Yes you are right the team rocket are a bit dul and boring

The storyline is the same with LgFr because it is a remake of the original Red/Blue/Yellow games. The storyline doesn't really get old to me. Besides going to those islands in it was cool.

Yes I agree I never get tired of the old storyline.

Team rocket DID deal with legendaries (The first Pokemon movie, their scientists created Mewtwo and Giovanni used it against Gary).

I think team rocket is more in depth, Giovanni is a GYM LEADER. I think that is pertty kool.

    Yes, but not in-games...
Only the fact that Giovanni is a gymleader makes the Rockets seem a bit ... high...
Because, Archie, Maxie and Cyrus aren't gym owners..
They're just... uhhh... normal fools persons tampering with legendaries, and
it's us who would have to solve it in the end...

yes you are right giovanni does own a gym so it makes rocket look stronger

Not only stronger, but more 'decietful'. I mean, its almost like he leads a double-life, with having met Red along the way, finally revealling himself to Red as the 8th Gym leader.
