3rd Gen Fire Red & Leaf Green Monotype Challenge

Started game with Charmander.

Beat Rival and leveled up to level six.

Leveled up to Lv. 7 and learned Ember.

Made it to Pewter City.

My party at time of save: Charmander Lv. 13, knows Scratch, Growl, Ember and Metal Claw.
 
Today I beat Koga and sabrina current team:

Raticate- 50
Wigglytuff- 49
Clefable- 48
 
I was going to do Psychic as you can get Abra before Cerulean Gym and Mr Mime after the SS Anne, but then realised that I only have FireRed so can't get Slowbro or Starmie. I might start one later on.
 
UPDATE:

Travelled to vermillion
Caught a Magikarp
Trained like hell using the vs seeker to evolve at level 20 into gyarados
Battled all trainers on ss.anne kicked Gary's butt!
Obtained hm cut
Won the vermillion gym through sheer luck with with para hax on raichu when my butterfree was on 4hp
went back to cerulean and obtained bike
Ploughed my through rock tunneleventually reaching lavander town
RENAMED all pokemon and saved the game there.

Anyway I completed the Fighting challenge if you wanted to know.
 
I hope it's okay that I started ^.^ :-

1. Started the game, went with a female trainer called Bailey
2. Chose Squirtle to get through Brock and Rock Tunnel easily to get an Abra
3. Went north, through Veridian, got the parcel, delivered it, got pokédex
4. Went through the forest, destroyed Brock and explored Pewter a little.
5. Now, I'm battling to get to and then through Rock Tunnel, where I can get Drowzee north of Celadon

Plan for my Team-
Drowzee - Catch, Rt 11 - Evolves, level 26
Abra - Catch, Rt 25 - Evolves, level 16 + Trade
Mr. Mime - Trade for Abra - Route 3
Jynx - Trade for Poliwhirl - Cerulean City
Exeggcute - Catch, Safari Zone - Evolves w/leaf stone
Staryu - Fish, Rt 25 - Evolves w/water stone
 
Today I went to Cinnabar beat the gym, finished the sevii island quest for celio, beat the rest of the trainers in the waters around kanto , and beat giovanni and gary

current team:

Raticate- 60
wigglytuff- 54
clefable- 54
 
Wow It seems Im almost the only one the uppdates here on this challange, anyway today I went through victory road and did some hard training to even out the levels of my pokes on the 3 islands my current team:

Raticate 65
Wigglytuff 64
Clefable 64

I will try beat E4 later today
 
I'll give electric a go...what am I getting myself into! :)

Would it be permissable to use a non-electric pokemon for the first five minutes until I catch one?
 
Yes but once you catch one you have to put away your other-type, which means you'll have to get Pikachu from Viridian Forest and try to beat Brock with Slam.

This. Don't get discouraged though. I beat Brock with a level 15 Pikachu. Do NOT overlook tail whip.

well I figured out i didnt save so i need to start again TT_TT


Ok edit:

-named myself Green
-rival Red
-Got squrtle because rivals posion type will make things neutral and I needs a HM slave that can swim
-Caught Caterpie and named Deidei(Caterpie is my 2nd fav pokemon in kanto)
-Caught Weedle named six
-Deidei evolved into Metapod
-Saved to get a bite to eat after this post

Well Deidei and Six evolved into there final state,and I grinded them into lv.11 each.
Butterfree turned to lv.12 on the gym trainer whitch helped me alot because I got a crit on Geodude and a Confustion on Onix.
Went East and got New Shoes,and caught a Paras in the cave.I named her Fungi.
Saved at the cave after a few battles cause I dont like grinding.

I was going for a 4th , I wanted a tauros or kangaskhan but they keept escaping so I didnt care about them , and I had my 2 hm slaves Lapras and farfetchd with me all the time since got them except against the E4 when I deposited them
