Update time! Sorry this is kinda late, I got stuck on Gary >.> I beat Gary and am working on catching an Abra - they keep Teleporting. I know, rubbish update, but I've been overwhelmed by Uni coursework...

Okay, updates! I just beat the grass gym, and I got a super rod. Here's my team:

Wartortle lvl 43 (I'm choosing not to evolve him until he learns all of his attacks- I don't need the extra power evolution would bring right now since he's such a high level.)
Vaporeon lvl 36 (Took forever to learn bite, still doesn't know any water type attacks. ARG.)
Gyradose lvl 20 (Yeaaaah, I spelled that wrong. I just caught her, so she needs some training. I wish she could learn fly.)
Krabby lvl 26 (I was able to get rid of my cut HM slave and use Krabby instead. Yayz.)
Staryu lvl 26 (Taught it psychic. I'll evolve it once it learns it's attacks.)

My last spot will probably be filled with Lapras, though a Poliwrath would be nice too. I'll probably end up ditching Gyradose for another poke.

Chose boy and named Chaos (my old username)
Named rival Pinor (my rival/freind in shoddy battle)
got bulbasaur and named it 3 Of Spade (would have put 3 Of Spades put 10 letter restriction said i couldnt)
Lost too rival cause i forgot to get the potion TT_TT

No, I'll just get my Pikachu to a high level and Slam Brock into submission.

Oh, here's my progress so far:

Started with Bulbasaur
Went to Viridian Forest as soon as possible
Caught Pikachu after first battle, named him Volt
Trained him up to level 7.

Update:

Leveled Volt all the way up to level 21, and got Slam.
Caught three other Pikachus while training: Spark, Zap, and Chu.
Finally went to Pewter Gym, beat Brock's subordinate, and used Slam to defeat Brock.

(By the way, is there anything against having multiple Pokemon of the same species?)

Update 2:

Went through Mt. Moon and got to Cerulean City.
Defeated the Cerulean Gym - Beat Misty with Volt at level 25.
Beat Rival (Chibi)
Beat Nugget Bridge and got the Nugget
Beat all the Trainers up to Bill
Saved Bill and got the S.S. Anne Ticket
Went back to Cerulean and healed my Pokemon.

By the end of this session, Volt is now level 30! But I don't have any other offensive Pokemon...

Well, to answer your questions:

1) Yes, you can join.

2) No, you may not trade, unless you need to evolve Pokemon. Just check the earlier posts to confirm this.

Why are people even asking about trading? All runs are completely manageable without aid from other games.

Bug is my favorite, the ones available before E4 are the only ones you need. The only part that's nearly somewhat hard is Lance and his Dragonite.
