Have you ever noticed that a lot of Fire Type Pokémon seem to learn Solar Beam (a grass type move)... I first noticed this with Moltres, but later discovered many Fire Type Pokémon learn this move!! why do you think this is? it doesn't make any sense to me... why can a lot of Fire Type Pokémon learn a grass type move... does it make sense to you? do you think they should remove that move from Fire Type Pokémon or keep it??

SolarBeam is mainly to give Fire-types a way to counter their Ground/Rock/Water weakness, it changes a lot of strategies.

Don't see the problem. Infernape can also learn Grass Knot as well. Groudon can learn both SolarBeam and Eruption and he's a Ground type. Gyrados can use Flamethrower and he's a Water type.

    What's wrong with it?

SolarBeam is an attack that uses sunlight... it makes sense for fiery Fire-types to use it.

Apparently, Sunny Day is a FIRE TYPE move, so shouldn't you ask:
Why do Grass Pokemon learn Sunny Day?

Of course it makes sense, for me at least. Sun - hot, fire - hot; I think that was what creators thought.

Many pokemon learn moves that go against their given type, as mentioned above.
It allows for greater variety, for counters, for strategy.
Why can almost every pokemon ever learn toxic?
Better questions exist, such as "why do some pokedex entries say a pokemon can do something but it's moveset not comply?" (eg. Yanmega, claimed to be able to carry a human whilst flying, and a flying type, but not able to learn fly) or "why exactly is it that only six fire type pokemon (Ho-oh, entei, victini and the litwik line) can learn flash despite the open flames on a good fraction of them (eg. charmander, magmar, infernape, macargo)?" (and Volcarona, who fits both questions)

Why can nearly every Pokemon spew Toxic?

If anything; solar beam should be a fire type move. solar = sun = HOT!
solar beam = shooting a beam of solar energy = shooting hot energy???

Also; if a pokemon can learn sunny day, it should be able to learn solar beam.

I agree with you, I've always said this to my friends when I was little and they would laugh at me, they should really change the typing of Solarbeam in the future generations of game. But it is good that the Pokemon company did allow many Fire type Pokemon to learn this move because it wouldn't make sense if they did not learn Solarbeam.

This. It powers up fire-type moves so it makes sense that its fire-typed.

Also, Sunny Day means that Solar Beam can be executed straight away without absorbing sunlight. Its essential for a strategy for fire types to evade being KO-ed by an overly-strong water type in two moves or less o__o

It makes sense because they harness the sunlight to power up their Fire moves, so why not have them use a move that uses the sunlight so they stand a chance against Water, Rock, and Ground types. Of course you better hope that the opposing Water type doesn't outrun you before you get Sunny Day going...

Most of the Fire types I've used have only mediocre speed, so I really don't use SunnyBeam too much myself. But I have had my Water types knocked out quickly by it, so I know all about its usefulness :P

Actually makes a lot of sense to me. Fire types are related to the sun, and aside from Sunny Day, what move do you first think of? That's right! Solar Beam!

It's a shame Charizard can't learn Solar Beam, really :(

Fire types learning Solarbeam isnt that weird.

And no, they shouldnt remove it from fire type pokemon.
