Hello, all! Spikey here with his first competitive-level team! ^_^ The team started out with my Contrary Serperior I got over GTS. He's a pretty great Pokemon, but I realized that because of his limiting moveset, I'd have to add a lot more diversity. Gliscor w/Poison Heal@Toxic Orb is fantastic with decent bulk and SD. Speed-Boost Blaziken is just beastly. Hydregion is my Special Sweeper and Latios is there to handle whatever the other four may have trouble with and Jellicent, well he's my Sponge.

    .::Team Construction::.

Started out with Serperior and he is a staple.

From there, I went with a personal favorite from my Gen IV games: Gliscor. With his new ability thanks to DW, he's even more amazing.

Serperior takes down Bulky Waters, and the occasional Ground types. Gliscor can shut-down Fire-types, foe Grass-types, Flying-types, and enemy Gliscor. Blaziken is here for Special Walls and is also my Physical Sweeper.

Hydregion was always one of my favorite Dragon-types because of concept and typing. Since Blaziken is my Physical Sweeper, Hydregion is my Special Sweeper. Blaziken handles Fighting-types so Hydregion doesn't need to worry about much and can decimate anything in his path.

Latios has always been a Pokemon that's intrigued me. In Gen IV, he was supposed to be one of the very best Pokemon with Soul Dew, but since its ban, he doesn't seem to have lost much usage. Figured I'd give him a try.

Finally, this team is rounded off with its own Wall: Jellicent. He's like a big, squishy bath toy :3

    .::Team Analysis::.

    Lead:

    [PokeCommunity.com] First Competitive Team~ RMT!!!

    Smuglord (Serperior) (M) @Light Clay
    Traits: Contrary
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Sp.Atk / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    -Light Screen
    -Reflect
    -Leaf Storm
    -Leech Seed

Smuglord! Smuglord's purpose diversifies depending on what the opponent leads with. If it's anything that resists Leaf Storm, then Serperior uses his superior (no-pun-intended) Speed to set-up either Light Screen or Reflect, depending on the opponent. Then, Smuglord sets up the second wall. After, if Serperior is still alive, he Leech Seed's the opponent before bowing out.
If the target takes neutral or super-effective damage to Leaf Storm, then Smuglord unleashes Leaf Storm and revels in a sharply boosted Sp.Atk stat! From there, Serperior can deal some decent damage to Poke's that can resist Leaf Storm, and it'll only get stronger with every useage!

    Smuglord's Best Friend:

    Scorpio (Gliscor) (M) @Toxic Orb
    Traits: Poison Heal
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Sp.Atk)
    -Swords Dance
    -Ice Fang
    -Earthquake
    -X-Scissor

Scorpio comes in whenever Smuggy passes out. Reflect and Light Screen (If they're up) provide Gliscor with an extra defensive edge so he can SD safely. From there, Scorpio unleashes the hurt against Grass, Ground, Fire, Electric (That aren't holding AirBallon/or are Eelektross), Dark, Dragon, Flying, and Psychic.
Gliscor covers a lot on his own and Toxic Orb+Poison Heal gives him some recovery as well as immunity to annoying statuses like Paralysis and Sleep.

    Physical Sweeper:

    [PokeCommunity.com] First Competitive Team~ RMT!!!

    Phoenix (Blaziken) (F) @Life Orb
    Traits: Speed Boost
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Sp.Atk)
    -Swords Dance
    -Flare Blitz
    -Hi-Jump Kick
    -Stone Edge

This. Is. Beast. Saw the set on Smogon and I have to give credit where credit is do: it is amazing~ Simple procedure: Blaziken uses SD, Speed Boost activates, then unleashes whatever is necessary to kill the opponent. Flare Blitz for Ferrothorn and other bulky Poke's, Hi-Jump for Special Walls like EvoChansey and Stone Edge for pesky Flying-types that think they can KO Phoenix.
Phoenix comes in if I don't feel like Gliscor is the best choice for the opponent, and also to take advantage of Double-Screen for a safe SD and Speed Boost. Life Orb is for extra power to an already monstrous Attack stat.

    Special Sweeper:

    [PokeCommunity.com] First Competitive Team~ RMT!!!

    Beezlebub (Hydregion) (M) @Life Orb
    Traits: Levitate
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Sp.Atk / 252 Spd
    Modest Nature (+Sp.Atk, -Atk)
    -Dark Pulse
    -Fire Blast
    -Draco Meteor
    -Focus Blast

Obvious and over-used Hydregion set is obvious and over-used. Dark Pulse+STAB+Life Orb is fantastic against Psychics and Draco Meteor is just beastly. Focus Blast to take down opposing Darks and Tyranitar. Fire Blast for Ice and Grass types.
Not much to say here, though Surf may be an option over Dark Pulse/Fire Blast?

    My Personal Pet:

    [PokeCommunity.com] First Competitive Team~ RMT!!!

    Latios (Latios) (M) @Life Orb/Expert Belt/White Herb
    Traits: Levitate
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Sp.Atk / 252 Spd
    Modest Nature (+Sp.Atk, -Atk)
    -Draco Meteor / Dragon Pulse
    -Surf
-HP Fire / Ice Beam (?)
    -Recover / Thunderbolt / Psyschock

Set straight from Smogon (With the exception of Ice Beam over HP Fire). Haven't tried this set, but I've studied it and can see the potential. Draco Meteor is easily his strongest move, but the drop in Sp.Atk is really not attractive. Dragon Pulse supplies consistent damage, but it a lot weaker. Kind of a toss if I decide to not run White Herb. Surf is for the likes of Tyranitar while HP Fire can take care of Ferrothorn. However, I've been considering Ice Beam as an alternative for more power and, while it can't decimate Ferrothorn, it can do some damage. Fourth move is, of course choice of preference. Personally, I'll probably go with Psyshock for STAB and take bypass Special Walls.

    Sponge:

    [PokeCommunity.com] First Competitive Team~ RMT!!!

    Bubbles (Jellicent) (M) @Leftovers
    Traits: Cursed Body
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Sp.Def
    Calm Nature (+Sp.Def, -Atk)
    -Scald
    -Toxic
    -Recover
    -Ice Beam / Energy Ball

BUBBLES!!! Okay, anyways, Jellicent here is my little sponge :3 He can switch-in on just about anything and take hits while spreading around Toxic and Burn from Scald. Recover allows my jellyfi-I mean Jellicent to survive for a looooonnnngggg time in battle. Ice Beam is for Grass-types while Energy Ball is for opposing bulky waters and Kyogre/Groudon.

    .::Threats::.

Have not exposed this team to a lot of competitive play to have a complete threats list.

    .::Team Evaluation::.

I really like this team. I would love to run it competitively, but I'm not entirely comfortable with it yet. Any ideas you guys may have will be welcome and appreciated (:

Sadly, Blaziken is an Uber now, so you'll have to use Infernape instead:
    -Overheat/Fire Blast
    -Close Combat
    -U-turn/Grass Knot
    -Stone Edge/Mach Punch
    Nature: Naive/Hasty
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb

Also, use HP Fire on Latios so that it can hit Ferrothorn, Forretress, Scizor and Skarmory. You can also use Taunt somewhere on Jellicent to prevent set up or recovery.

    Well, that's a shame =/

As for Jellicent, if I were to use Taunt...say, replace Ice Beam/Energy Ball?

Latios would be best with a Life Orb and having Draco Meteor/Psyshock/Hp Fire/Surf and having a Timid Nature.

Jellicent should have taunt over Ice Beam/Energy Ball. Like PD said Blaziken is banned. Jellicent also wants Water Absorb over Cursed Body, it works better.

You do realize that you're playing in the Dream World tier because of Serperior? Which means that Technician Brelooms will be swarming along with a load of other deadly DW Abilities.

Blaziken is better off with protect than swords dance because it gives him time to set up a speed boost. Also, replacing Stone Edge with Baton Pass is a possibility since you pass on your boost like any other speed booster (ninjask), but w/o the annoying weaknesses. A focus sash could also be thrown in for good measure, but I wouldn't recommend it with Blaziken's dangerously reckless set. If you do try it, though, replace Flare Blitz with Blaze Kick. Speed Boost also gives him potential for being a mixed sweeper, so flamethrower and fire blast are optional as well.

If you're running modest Latios, you should try running a choice scarf with it or your other dragon so it doesn't get run over by jolly old Garchomp. Don't deny it. You know how common he is.

Blaziken is banned from standard play; along with Garchomp so altering your team around them is useless. I agree with giving Latios a choice scarf though.

Blaziken/Garchomp are not banned in DW, iirc. Because they are using Contrary Serperior, they do not follow the standard metagame and thus those bans are unrealistic and that rate is perfectly valid, imo.

Also when Blaziken was in OU, I always preferred to run Leftovers to stall for recovery every turn (and you don't wear down as quickly because of SS damage [then extra SS damage through Protect] + LO recoil + the chance of a HJK miss or mispredict). I don't know what KOs Blaziken nets with Life Orb, but I always preferred the spare recovery.
