Well, I'm not quite sure if this is the right place to put it, so move it if you want mods, but saber-building IS considered an art form by some (namely, Star Wars geeks). Anyway, these are the pics of the first lightsaber I designed and built. Forgive the glue, I lacked access to welding equipment, so... I'm gonna touch it up with some silver paint, but the main construction is done. Here's the pics (Terribly sorry for the size of these, my comp's being evil about resizing, and for the crap-focus on the last one. It's not my fault, I swear!).

    "Charmander"

Building, modeling and other such things are concidered art soI can think of no other place that this would go.

Anyways, that lightsaber is amazing, believe me, I have seen some...how can I put it...crappy lightsabers through my life. Some with paper cups and other such stuff, but this one is very well done ^_^

All I can really say is that it needs a clean up with all the glue and what not and it will look great. Thumbs up to you Dodge, this is deffinantly something new to see in the art forum ^_-

EDIT: Concidering it is your first try, I would say you have a nack for such things, Dodge!

(The Charmander and Cyndaquil thing is a dar XP)

Wow, I think this is great! :D It really looks like an authentic lightsaber. ^_^ I like the little touches of detail you've put on it to make it look extra realistic :) You've obviously put a lot of effort into this - it's awesome! :D

Wow that look so real it is incredible! That is really crafty! XP But yeat it looks almost like the one in the movies but for some reason yours looks REALLY heavy.

that is the best lightsaber ive seen, the glue could be scraped off, marillmonster2000
    lightsabers dont have blades

Nope! They have plasma loops instead! :P

Anyways, yeah, I'm gonna get the glue cleaned up. It really wasn't all that difficult, may $35 for the parts and eight or so hours of work, another day or two for everything to dry. Probably the hardest part was cutting the gripo holes, I don't have a rotary tool, so I had to use a hacksaw, that took some careful doing to avoid warping the metal. Really not all that heavy either, maybe a pound and a half. I have a parts list if anyone wants it.

Later on, I'm gonna try making another with a PVC blade that I can use for fan films and such (which I'm gonna need, I've been cast as a Sith Lord in an upcoming one with my friends), then Photoshop in the proper effets.
