Before I start let me preface this by saying that I am an oldtimer from RBY and I just got DP yesterday. I'm still learning the pokemon afer mew(lol). I have only two badges and I do not have ANY of these pokemon yet. My point is....I AM TRYING REALLY HARD TO FIGURE THIS STUFF OUT WITHOUT MUCH FIRSTHAND KNOWLEDGE. That being said, please point out weaknesses but recognize that I haven't had the experience yet to see my own glaring mistakes. I am using a ton of OUs but I want a good team that does not tap into the Ubers so I don't see much of a way around using them.
I am leaving EV/IV/Nature out of it for now. And I do not have the moves 100% figured out but here is what I currently have thought of.
1. Jolteon (Choice Scarf)
Baton Pass
Substitute
Thunderbolt
???????????What should I put here??
2. Gyarados (Life Orb)
Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Bite
Ice Fang
3. Weavile (Choice Band)
Pursuit
Ice Punch
Brick Break
Night Slash
4. Gengar (Choice Scarf)
Hypnosis
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Explosion
5. Tyranitar (Choice Band)
Crunch
Stone Edge
Earthquake
Pursuit
6. Salamence (Choice Specs)
Draco Meteor
Dragon Pulse
Flamethrower
Hydro Pump
Noticably missing from my team is a wall/stall. I am hoping this team gets going fast and stays on the offense, when something dies I figure I can just restart the offensive with a baton pass from Jolteon or put Gengar in to force the opponent to switch. As a sort of mini stall I am considering replacing salamence with Celebi and leechseeding/recovering an enemy to death or at least for good dmg.
I start with Jolteon in the hopes of running into something I can fry early with thunderbolt. If it doesn't look like I can get a quick kill(or if my enemy switches) I can substitute and baton pass to Gyarados and Dragon Dance into a sweep. That's the plan at least. If/when my Gyarados gets dropped I come in with Weaville and work pursuit for the revenge kill. After that kill I might be able to present a Gengar and catch the opponent off-guard.
I've only had this game for 24 hours and I have not even seen any of these pokemon in game, nor seen any friends with them so please help me out if anything I said was blatantly incorrect or would not work. Please help me out. I've been reading up on the end game and have basically been trying to figure out how this could work. Any recommendations for moves/strats/or different pokemon please let me know. And as I said before: I don't understand how this type of offensive team could really utilize a wall....if some1 could explain that for me please do. It seems like my group is a bit heavy on dragons so maybe I could rep one with Infernape??
Please don't just point out weaknesses but show how I can correct them ^^
Thanks to all.
