4th Gen First time EV training. need help

I just battled a Lv.3 Sentret with my Lv.1 Honchkrow holding a Power Bracer. My Honchkrow fainted but will it still gain 4 ATK EVs from the Power Bracer?

You can use this standard: If it gains exp. points, it gains EV's.
