  • Hi um... if you go to SPP you may know me as Flaming Lip, becuase others at that site have read this poem...

    Foreign Rain
    I am completely indifferent
    Part of an alien nation
    I feel so estranged
    But I?ll man my station
    We built the tower
    We had our hour
    We built this power
    And all of this babble

Foreign rain, so different yet it is the same
So much pain, and we all die in vain

    I don?t know what you?re saying
But you?re lips make a sound
    You know we?re all paying
We are coming to the ground
    I?ll shake your hand
Make the deal I know nothing of
I will be part of the sand
    And the shadows in love

Foreign rain, so different yet it is the same
So much pain, and we all die in vain

  • Hmmmmmmmm...this sure was an interesting poem. ^^; I have to say I was a bit confused, though. @.@ It seems that this poem was first about someone or someones who were alienated from their homeland or something along those lines.

It got confusing after the part where the "Shall man their station." I just kinda got a vibe that they were at war. I just got back from seeing the movie Sahara so that's probably why. XD

Anyways, good job on this poem OL, keep it up! ^^

  • How perceptive of you...

    From the Start
From the start you have no heart you believe in yourself
    But now
You see the tears are falling
    God has no sympathy
Filled with fear, you cannot speak and you?re stalling

From the start you wanted to play a part, you believed yourself
    But now
You?re too sick to go but you see the men off
Crying and shouting words of courage
    Concealing what you really think
You go off now, your sobs so soft

From the start you would not cry you believed in yourself
    But now
You know how naive you were from the start
    To be over?
    To be over

From the start to the end, a walk thru the blood red sky
A fear in your heart, a day in the life would not matter
All gone the fields where you?d lie
    Your dreams to fly
    They all seem to die

From the start you wanted to be loved
And in the end you just want to live
It seemed so hard to give your heart away
And in the end it got you nothing
No love not even a friend
And you retire so defeated in the end
You sit and watch the blood red sky
From the start you knew it would end
    To be over?
    To be over?
    To be over
