What do you think about their method of evolution? Do you think they should have evolved via level up or another method?

Vulpix line or Growlithe line: Vulpix line, they're waayyyy cuter <3 And foxes = wonderful.
- Vulpix/Growlithe or Arcanine/Ninetales: Growlithe! (I assume I'm allowed to choose that despite choosing the Vulpix family? x]) I've got a lot of memories with a certain Growlithe I used to use alll the time that I never evolved, so it's quite a special Pokemon to me :3
Answer the current topic: Okay!

What do you think about their method of evolution? Do you think they should have evolved via level up or another method?
I don't like it much, but it's okay. I like the fact that having to evolve via a fire stone makes them seem more elegant, elusive, rare, and, in Vulpix's case, more beautiful from having to have the power of a stone with the essence of flame within it. Although mechanics wise I don't like it at all. It's annoying that you have to level them up to x level before evolving them and then you have to compromise what you're doing and it all gets super annoying! Plus you can have a level 1 Arcanine and it's just like wat. Although on the other hand it is nice being able to evolve them literally whenever you want, so it's a hard call... As for whether they should evolve by another method, I think Growlithe certainly should evolve via level up. The whole point in Arcanine is that it's powerful and impressive and has this immense untapped potential - how can a level 2 Growlithe that's just hatched and had stones thrown at it accomplish this? Although with Vulpix I think it's pretty much perfect for the reasons mentioned earlier, namely the elegance/beauty factors. Although perhaps another method would've been imitating the way Feebas evolves into Milotic when it has max beauty? I know that couldn't happen in Gen I, but I think it would've suited Ninetails a lot better than a fire stone :3

tl;dr: Overall I'm not in favor :3

Vulpix line or growlithe line: Vulpix line :D
Vulpix/Growlithe or Arcanine/Ninetails:Arcanine!

Do you like the method of evolution?: Can't say I've ever really thought about it, but I guess it mostly depends on games or tv show. In the games it could be difficult to find a fire stone (although not if you know where to look), but it is fitting as the nine tailed fox is supposed a mythical creature, and in evolving with a fire stone it'd be harder to acquire, and in the tv show I'm otherwise indifferent because it doesn't mean a whole lot to me how they evolve :P

Name: droomph
Vulpix line or growlithe line: Vulpix. So much win
Vulpix/Growlithe or Arcanine/Ninetails: GROVYLE Vulpix. :)

messod ov volooshun yadayada

I think it's fine. I like the fact that I can choose when they evolve. Although my main problem is that Ninetales doesn't learn any moves of its own >:( but other than that the fire stone I don't have any problem with how they evolve.

Name: Sector Revenge
Vulpix line or Growlithe line: I'm all for Foxes, one of my favorite animals ever! So Vulpix/Ninetales for sure!
- Vulpix/Growlithe or Arcanine/Ninetales: Shana the Vulpix Since all 4 Pokemon have been partnered up now! hehe, and in case you allow nicknames
Answer the current topic:
I like the Fire Stone idea for these two. Makes them more "worthy" than a leveling up strategy. But to be quite honest, I kind of wished Ponyta/Rapidash could follow on their relationships a bit, but they aren't unfortunately :(

Which line- I like both, waah! But I prefer Growlithe line.
Partner- Arcanine

To answer current topic=

I don't like that you can only get an Arcanine by stone. I agree with Buttered Coat in that a baby stone-evolved Level 3 or so Arcanine just doesn't fit and seems to me like a hack or something. Additionally it's quite annoying to find stones in BW which is where my Arcanine is(I got it as a Growlithe from a trade, if you're wondering. IT TOOK FOREVER to find someone who'd give me one.). In DPPT it's ridiculously easy to find stones in the Underground, but everywhere else it's a pain. However, I think stone evolution fits Ninetales nicely. It gives it a sense of exoticness and something that you really have to persevere at. It also shows that it's sort of so powerful that it can choose to access its power at any time in its lifespan.

So how about a new topic for the current members? c:

Which would win in a battle, Arcanine or Ninetails?

Honestly, I think this goes to Arcanine hands-down. Arcanine is much stronger with way more useful moves and some incredibly well revered strategies. Ninetails however can be very effective in battle, but is not against Fire types. Ninetails hardly gets any non-Fire type moves that do any substantial damage whereas Arcanine gets things like Extreme Speed and Crunch, both of which would easily put an end to Ninetails. It's unfortunate that Ninetails' sought after Drought ability can't really come into play against an Arcanine considering it has just as much as use to gain from it as Ninetails does x]

OMG THERE'S A CLUB FOR ARCANINE SPECIFICALLY HOLY BALLS

Name: Sakura Rain
Which line: GROWLITHE/ARCANINE i had six of them on my Red version lmao
Partner: Growlithe because I want to carry one around okay

Which would win in a battle, Arcanine or Ninetails?

ARCANINEEEEE. (get ready infodump headed your way)

Arcanine can also learn Wild Charge and Close Combat, both of which (or at least Close Combat) would absolutely decimate Ninetales. Plus, one of Arcanine's abilities is Flash Fire, which would simply absorb Ninetales' fire type attacks. Admittedly, Ninetales' ability is Flash Fire too so Arcanine couldn't use any fire type attacks against it, but why on earth would you use fire type attacks against a fire type when you have stuff like Extremespeed and Close Combat srsly

I WISH Arcanine had Drought, klsfjsl. I guess they gave it to a weaker fire type to not destroy the metagame increase usage of underused pokemon.

Name: The Shiny Umbreon in the Corner or (Shiny Umbreon for short)
Vulpix line or Growlithe line: Growlithe
- Vulpix/Growlithe or Arcanine/Ninetales: Arcanine XD
Answer the current topic: Well I am defaintly short on firestones if i have any! I think that what should happen is maybe level it such as a certain move such as Piloswine - Mamoswine with ancient power such as Aipom - Ambipom with double hit when it could be Growlithe - Arcanine with fire blast level up :) XD !!
