3rd Gen FR/LG - Where is the first place in LG where you can catch a Dragon type?

So I want to do a mono dragon run on my copy of LG and wondered where do you first ecounter a dragon pokemon that you are able to catch other than a gyarados....

Anyway, there's only one dragon in FR/LG before National Dex, and that is Dratini, who you can buy in the Rocket Game Corner (Celedon City) for 4,600 coins in LG and 2,800 coins in FR.

Yup dratini is the only pokemon before national dex.

Get the nation dex if you want other dragons like salamence and stuff.

you can buy Dratini at the Game Corner in Celedon City. In LeafGreen I don't know about the level, but in FireRed it is Level 18.
Laden, also, Gyarados is NOT a dragon type, it's typing is Water/Flying.

Okay..
So Its not possible to do a dragon run through is it then becasue Celedon is half way through the game if I'm right?

Also I thought it was Water/Dragon?

How come it learns - Dragon Rage?

It can learn Dragon Rage thanks to it Dragon attributes.
If you can't wait till Celedon for a Dragon, trade one to your LeafGreen.

Do you need to gameboys?
Since I only have one and 3 DS's ?

Yeah, sadly you need Gameboys.

Also, you can't trade from R/S/E until after a long quest.

The only way to get a dragon before celadon is either:

Hacking
Trading

Why don't you see if your friend has a spare sp/gameboy?
