Well, they're used in plays to add comic value - for example, someone says something in a stage whisper about someone and that person hears.

Yeah, same here. I don't really have much of an interest in them for some reason. Some plays are good, but the past few that I had to see years ago were boring.

There's a play company who perform every year which I go to and they're good, but most plays are fairly boring elsewhere.

There's nothing like that around here that I know of. If I saw a good play for once, I probably would be a little more interested in them.

They're really good performers and do make Shakespeare more interesting. That's a fair point - if you ever visit England I'll have to take you to a good play. :D
