5/10, Cutting up bits of Anime Screenshots and adding a border isn't that good. You might want to try to make some effects to it. You might also want to keep your avatars all the same size.

The piccies are great. I don't like the different sizes, it throws me off o.x;. The shading could use a little work, but it's good =D.

And the second one? Much better IMO.

A Much better frame. The cropping could've been a little better but its good. For the bg color next to Max try to use a color more similar to the edgey bits that look weird.

Even if it isn't against the rules, it's kinda rude.

Anywayz, the Max one is quite well done, but might look a bit more interesting if you changed how the border blended into the picture, but I'm not sure if you used any of the graphic programs that allow that.

Anyway, overall, they're pretty good, but there's always room for improvement. ^^

Edit: Ah, sorry, didn't notice you said you used MS Paint. @.@
Might wanna invest in a better graphics program, though...well done for making that Max one on Paint, though.
