What's the point?


I just find them pointless and time-wasting. What are your opinions?

Typing in a name, rather than typing something like this:

Yeah,but there is like a million people with the same name! The numbers are short and not long. Something like this 0000-0000-0000.

But, they could try and use letters in the friend code.


They could try and make it shorter then.

Yes they're stupid, yes they're not needed, but there's nothing we can do about it.

I see nothing wrong with them. If the friend codes were tediously long, then maybe. But they're not, and they're hardly an inconvenience to use. It's just as effective as XBox Live gamertags, which from what you're saying you are a fan of. Adding letters as well would just make it confusing. a 12-digit number isn't exactly long.

Friend Codes provide something unique. If you don't like them, then go play XBox. And since this isn't relevant to D/P/P specifically, I'm gonna close it.
