Fruits Basket

My fave Souma has gotta b Kisa... I nvr expected her zodiac to be tiger... She's a realli soft-spoken girl... so she being a tiger....totally unbelievable...

Kisa rocks... Actually I prefer watching the DVD to reading the manga...

I love furuba ^^ my favorite Sohma is Hatori. I like quiet angsty people like him. Second is Ayame, third is Kisa. Ah, and I'm a Kyoru shipper *is bricked* x_x

My parents know that DN Angel and Fruits Basket are my two favorite anime. They seem to think that anime is something that's "in" and I'm just following a trend or something. I think they want me to be popular, so they approve of it. They probably think it's all for kids too XD. I get most of my more mature anime from friends though.

LOL! Parents are silly aren't they? DN is an awesome one too ^^ Dark makes me happy XD

Yes I saw It and I couldn't resist ^_^ It's from the first one! HEHE! I saw a dancing haru sprite !EEEE!!! I want him!

I can finally post here! ^^ I got the first volume today, it's kinda confusing adjusting to the Japanese style [right to left o_o] X3 I'm up to Chapter Two, it's awesome. I feel kinda sad for Tohru though.

My favourite Sohma is Kisa (the tiger), but I like Prince Yuki, too. I have all the books + the DVDs.

Lol, my friends and I had a sleepover once where we all watched the Furuba DVD's. We couldn't find the first two anywhere, though, and the box set was too expensive, so we had to just watch the 3rd and 4th. All my friends are obsessed with the anime/manga.If one of us gets a new volume of the manga, everyone has to borrow it.

*This shouldn't be too spoiler-ish, but it does involve the last episode.*

I cried during the first part of the last episode, but for some reason I found the part with Akito simultaneously funny and sad oO

Me too! I kinda feel bad for Akito-sama...I mean...what will happen to him...I don't think I can imagine being told that as a child. I absolutely ADORE the scene with Kyou and Tohru hehe! *^_^* It made me feel all squishy!

Hello!! i love Fruits Basket. i have watched all of the episodes (except the ones on the 1st dvd cuz i can't find it) like 5 or more times. My fave Sohma's... hmmm on cutness/adorablenss (Sp?) i can't choose. they are just so adorable! but my fave fave's are Hatori, Shigure, Ayame,....Yuki and Kyo!

^_^ lol! I like all of them too! Kisa is special to me because she is my symbol and I kinda went through what she did at one point. But I would give up being the year of the Tiger in an instant and become a Cat! ^_^

I absolutely LOVE Fruits Basket!!!! I have only seen the anime (all of it!!! ^_^) so I don't really know if there are any differences between the anime and manga... but anyways! My absolute favoritest character is HARU!!!!! I love him!!!! He's so cool, I mean he's a COW!!! A COW!!!!!!! (Sorry, I kind of have an obsession with cows... *chuckles nervously* heh heh...) And he's good looking! :P And I think it's absolutely hilarious when he becomes "Black Haru". My second favorite character is Kyo! Whenever he gets angry it makes me laugh so hard I pee my pants! (not literally... not even metaphorically... I just like that phrase!). My next favorite character is Shigure! He's so cool! And he's dog!!! He's so adorable when he transforms!!!!! You just wanna pick him up and hug him to death (well at least that's what I want to do... although not really to death, at least not intentionally, but that probably is how it would end, I'd smother him to death :( I don't wanna kill Shigure!!!!) Oh and then my next favorite character (yes I know, I have too many favorite characters!!!) is Hatori, his past was SOOOOOO sad, it nearly made me cry (and that's saying something!). Fruits Basket is such a great show! I have one complaint about it though... there was NO SMOOCHING!!!! It drives me nuts trying to think of who Tohru would have chosen to go out with or *gasp* even marry! I was voting for Kyo though! I mean i like Yuki and all but... Kyo is really funny! Anyways... I do believe I have babbled on for long enough....

The manga is much more detailed and it explains alot more about Hatsuharu and the others you even get to meet Haru's love....XD

Ooh!!! Really?! Cool! I had heard somewhere that Hatsuharu was dating the horse Jyuunshi (or however that is spelled...) person... which is cool because I was born in the year of the horse!!!! :P Someday my cow will come for me! :D Lol!

Mmm, I've read about some of the details from the manga; about the last few zodiac members, about Kyo's biggest problem, about Akito - especially about Akito. Quite a surprise. I can only hope the anime continues, as since that, I've resolved to swear off spoilers. *Crosses fingers behind back.*

Do note regarding spoilers, whoever hasn't watched all the anime, that I do intend to mention details in my post.

I can't say I agree with you about Hatori. His presence does greatly benefit the show; as one of the most normal adults, he tends to make it more realistic, and as one of the most scarred, he reinforces the sense of trauma and loss in all generations of the cursed community. Even so, by contributing to the interactions around him like that, I find he's not the most intersting himself at the times when he's only there as a foil for the others; his own scenes are heartwarming, but many of the others have more vivid personalities.

Besides that, I must ask - if you favour quiet angst, how come Ayame's your next favourite? :P

I find Ayame and Ritsu the most fascinating. It's just the way they're so different, and yet so similar beyond that. Ritsu even idolises his opposite above all others, which seems evidence, to me, that opposites are most different from the space in between. Plus, they can be seen to summarise the two main ways one can handle social situations; when feeling self conscious, one can either cringe, or make an effort to ignore the feeling and chat away confidently, which may mean appearing oblivious. While Ritsu at his loudest is a little too unrealistic, the sheer depth of his problems... At his episode's end, where he says to Tohru in such a calm way that of course he's worthless and his existance is pointless, seeming to take it for granted... That's quiet angst. I just wish he'd appeared in an episode with Ayame - another reason I'd love to see another series of the anime.

As for Kisa being the tiger; that didn't surprise me so much. She's just so wary, and still so cute, that it did seem to fit. Surely the real surprise was Hiro!

MIne is Kisa because I am a year of the tigher and she funny when she bites Thoru ;)
