They JUST released chapters 99, 100, and 101 at the Spectrum. CHAPTER 101 WAS SO......WOW. O_O

Hiro's just a bit outspoken X3 And I think his devotion to Kisa is adorable~ X3 Kisa and Hiro are my favourite couple, and I really like Kisa, too! =D Ah, well, like ya said, his brains only make him even more kawaiiiiii, if that's possible 8D

Meh, sorry for the abrupt change in topics, but I have something I thought would be interesting to discuss. XD
I'm sure you've noticed, if you've read very far in the manga, that Takaya-sama has changed her syle quite a bit. I guess you could say it's divided into bits; "Volume 1 style", "Pre-volume 11/12 style", and "After volume 11/12 stle". XD Which do you like best? Do you like the old stlye better than her new one?

Personally, I enjoy the change in style. More sharp and long lines, less fluff (Though I did love her fluffy hair. XD). It flows with the story itself, which changed from a fluffy, innocent, humorous manga into a darker, deeper story (Chapter 101......O_o). Reminds us tis not just all fluff. ^^;

.....Not to say that fluff is bad. ^^;
 
hmmm i don't really care. Takaya is like my fave manga author so i love anything she makes. As long as she makes the characters as adorable as ever it don't matter to me. :P

It ish hard to pick between her styles. They're all pretty. <33

Besides, I like to think that the styles aren't different. For mwee, the change of style simply follows how older the characters get. The first style ish all kawaii~ish 'cause they're all still young; then in the second style, they've matured a little bit - if she stuck with her initial style people wouldn't clearly see the difference between their younger selves from the present. And, in the third style, they're all grown up~

I think it ish only natural that she changed her style. :3

I like fruits basket! I've read the first 5 mangas and currently looking for the 6th one. I live in a small town so they're hard find:(
^btw what book do they switch to the 2nd style?
 
Oh yeah! I have all the anime. XD It is soo good. I really like Torhu, Kyo, Yuki, Ayame, and Shigure the best! The others are good too, but those guys are awesome! But I only have only have up to vol 2 of the manga. ;; I need to get the rest! It will take me awhile. XD

Well, I started noticing small changes in volumes 9 and 10, and I think after 11 it pretty much all changes.

Marina99, that's another one of my theories. ^^ As they get older, they get taller, their faces seem to stretch out a bit, and hairlines are set higher. One really must admire Takaya-sama for notign such tedious changes. ^_^

I also heard she had hurt her hand or something. O_o
 
Wow, its been awhile since I veiwed this thread...

She hurt her hand right before the...I think, the seventh book. And I like the way that Takaya-sensei (I like calling her that...don't ask, it sounds cool! n.n) makes the character mature bit by bit, and I've noticed that the style has somewhat changed. The outlining of the characters has thinned out, and the eye-style has changed (mainly with Tohru and Yuki). Also, with the maturing of the characters, Kyo is getting even hotter than before! -drools-

Bah, obsesive Kyo fangirl...what can I say? ^.^
 
XD they need to make more anime. it would be soo cool to see some of the manga chapters as an anime episode!
 
I hope that they put the anime back on TV. I own all the DVDs, but seeing as the manga is quite popular, they should make more episodes and show it on Satuday nights or something(a time I can actually watch it! >.<). They only took it off the air because...well, I don't know why. BUT THEY MUST PUT IT BACK ON THE AIR!

But with all the cussing (Kyo you naughty boy!) and cross-dressing and such, it would probably be on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network...

It would be interesting to see more episdoes....even though I'm a much bigger fan of the manga than the anime, I would love to see some chapters animated. ^_^ And, we're left to imagine what Rin, Ren, Kureno and others sound like. XD

Though, on the other hand, I think they (no offense) kinda screwed up the manga, and set a trap for themselves later on in the series.

Also, yeah, it would most likely end up on Adult Swim or something. >.< The cussing, cross-dressing (though I don't mind either. XD) and, later on in the series, sex, it would be considered "Adult" . ><;

I loved Furuba when I watched the japanese version. I'm asking for the box set for my birthday so I can see the english dub, too. ^^; My friend says the manga is completely different from the anime from a certain point (like FMA, is the example she gave me, in case you guys have ever seen that) so I was wondering what volume the similarities end at? So I can order from then onwards after christmas... The series didn't last long enough for me... xDD

Hm....can't tell you for sure. I know they COMPLETELY changed the part when Arisa and Saki came over to spend the night, but that was fairly early in the series. I could also tell you a few other things they changed: (SPOILER WARNINGS)
They completely took out Shigure's hints at his major manipulative personality.
They changed Akito's gender.
They cut out and added several parts in some episodes from the manga.

That's all I can think of. XD But also, you don't *have* to order any of them. Spectrum Nexus (https://www.thespectrum.net/index.shtml) hosts several manga fan-translations, and Fruits Basket is on their rotation. They have volumes 7-17 currently, I believe. You can also modify the URLs a bit to access 1-6. ^^
 
Have any of you noticed that the characters looks start to change in book 9?
