Fruits Basket

Have any of you noticed that the characters looks start to change in book 9?

Yeah, we were discussing that earlier in the thread. A lot of people agree that Takaya-san (no more -sama, yay. O_o) did this to make them appear older as they grew up. ^_^

So...um....well. O_o Does anyone here do Furuba fanworks? I've practiced drawing the character, but about the only things I'm good at are the animals. XD I'm working on some poetry too. ^^

I've done a lot of fanworks that are Kyo x Tohru.... but as cat and human. Because drawing human males is beyond me. It's also drawn in my own style, which is probably closer to Miyazaki's older works. That's what I watched when I taught myself to draw xD

...

Those are really disturbing...and highly unlikely. However, Yuki does look like a girl, so it wouldn't be that odd. Most of the boys in their school appear to have a crush on him as much as the girls do, it sorta creeps me out...

XD well he does look like a girl like you said... but true it is creepy... it would be weird if a guy asked him out tho

Heh heh, I'll support any pairing if it has a meaning. Yuki and Kyo, I can see where fans coem from, but... really, I think it's kinda pointless. O_o Therefor, I am indifferent to it. XD

>.< Mrf, I am so happy...yet so agitated. Why? Well...

Being the stubborn mule I am, I am NOT reading the online manga. I am waiting, waiting to buy them when they come out in the bookstores so I can have them forever and my kids would say, "Mommy, why the hell did you read this?" However, the twelth book is coming out on the 13th of December, but I learned that AFTER I went to the book store. I'm happy, though, because BORDERS HAS FRUITS BASKET BOOKMARKS! ^.^ Sure, you could make one easily, but still...Sadly, I saw them after we purchased a book so...I couldn't get one of Kyo -cries-

Anyway, back to the Kyo x Yuki. I still find it rather disturbing...like Tohru's dream sequence in the first manga...but, it would be funny if a guy from school actually asks Yuki out! -rolls on floor laughing-

Boy: Oh Yuki, after seeing you in that dress, my heart has forever swooned for you!
Yuki: ...
Boy: Let me hug you my Prince! -hugs-
-Onlookers stare and one girl says: Hey, he never let ME hug him. Is Yuki...?-

Random, I know, but still...it puts a smile on my face after I read it...strange, is it not?

That made me laugh, Wolf Goddess. XD;;; Kinda reminds me of volume 2...
Hatori: That being said, Yuki...when did you become a woman?
Yuki: *twitch* How dare you say that after seeing me naked so many times...
*All the students comepletely freak out*
Random guy: Sohma-kun, are you...?
Yuki: NO!!

Heh heh, I'm going to read most of the online mangas....THEN BUY THEM ALL TOO. o_o

Oh yeah, anyone ever been to the Furuba-Rama forums? The people there are awesome. >3

Nope, I've never been there...

And if I read the manga online, my mom would surely catch me and cheer. "Now we don't have to buy that crap for my daughter! Hooray!"
"No! Don't take my Kyo-kun away from MEEEEE!" ('tis me)

Mrf. I liked the second manga. After reading it I wanted a Onigiri real bad...though I never had one though...I liked the sixth however, and, suprisingly, it brought a tear to my eye. -gets glare from sister- Okay! I was crying! >.< They were so mean to Kyo, and the fact is, I can relate to him!

I mean, we all feel as though there is something wrong with us, correct? (And no, I am not saying I liked the sixth because we saw him with his shirt off...though I did like that part...^.^)

ah the part when Kyo didn't have a shirt on... that was one of my faves in the manga... and the anime

Heehee, my parents don't care much, as longs as I don't stay TOO obsessed with one certain anime or manga. Actually, my mom said she's glad that I'm readign different kinds of manga. :0
If you've never been there, there's a link on the Spectrum Nexium(sp?) site. I believe the policy here forbids me from linking to outside forums. >0

I nearly cried during the 6th volume, and it definentily left an impact on me.

I tried to make an onigiri. Once. But I used regular rice insteady of the sticky kind. And I discovered, to my surprise and disappointment, that I ABSOLUTELY HATE NORI. So now if I ever eat them again, I'll peel the nori off. XD

-dies-

Gah, I love that part in the anime! ^.^ In fact, I love Kyo with or without his shirt on. My sister is strictly a Yuki fan, but she even admitted that Kyo was "kinda" cute without his shirt on after she peeked in the sixth book.

The rice I usually get is quite sticky...I suppose I could make some with ease, though it would get stuck to my hand...Oh, oh OH! I never realised it, but you know Kyo's favorite pair of pants -pokes picture- Well, I actually own pants that look EXACTLY like them. I never realised it until my friend (who also reads the manga) pointed out, "Hey, nice Kyo pants." I was quite confused, but understood. They were my favorite jeans before...I got them when I was in...-thinks- sixth grade, and they still fit me two years after!

Yes. <3 It's cute. ;3

Also, my mother's used to me being a Fruits Basket fan now! She's even learnt the word "manga"... which is a big achievement for her, because she was calling them "Japanese picture books" and such XD;

Japanese...picture...books...? -tries to stop self from laughing-

My mother refers to them as "Oh, those books you like," and what-not. She still can't believe that I actually like those sort of things. She also doesn't want me beginning a new series.

I wanted to buy another manga, but my mother said, "Wouldn't you rather wait until the series your reading is over?" >.<
Silly Mother! Doesn't she know I have a LONG way to go before it's over. Thus is the result of my lack of knowlege of any other good manga...

Tis better than what my dad calls them. XD
"You reading that Japanese crap again?"
Of course, he's only joking, but it's still irritating. >_o

And yes, Kyo is quite cute at times. Though, I could say that for most all characters...XD But still, Kyo is ESPECIALY hot. :0

Yesh, Kyo ish t3h hawtness~ <333

Well, my mother's clueless, but she's pretty tolerant. Of course, I don't think she needs to see Chobits; I had no idea it was rated "Older Teens", and I took it home, found a bunch of mature themes, and I was like... "Holy crap" O_o

But Fruits Basket's innocent... except for a few things... bleh.

Heh, Kyo is cute <3 <3

My mom knows manga, since she's Japanese. I guess she flipped my Furuba manga once and was okay with it. But when she goes into few other manga of mine, she said things about, 'How manga these days are different from her time' and she excpected me to not know some of the manga she read, and she was suprised that I even read it -.-; As for my step dad, he calls it manga, but can't read a thing it say since its written in Japanese... (okay, that was off topic...)

Anyway, Kyo IS cute, he's not really my favourite character, I like Momiji or Kisa better (not in a sick way)

Mrf, Kyo is the best. But I like those characters, also...but they're just plain adorable! I would love to have Kisa as a younger sis! ^.^

Hmm, I would like to take Japanese as a second language...-or third, whatever- so I could read the manga that is WRITTEN in the language...>.< But it sucks, because people are bias. Whenever I go the the manga section of Borders, people give me the look that says, "Your not Asian, why the hell are you looking at Manga?" and so I get quite agitated and storm off. They only think that Japanese kids could read it, and they are not aware how popular it is getting! Its the same thing in school, too. But now, I am getting all my friends into it one-by-one...^.^

I live near an international university, so there are quite a few Asian, Indian, etc. students around. ^_^ So the local Barns & Noble store and the university bookstore stock quite a few manga, amoung them Furuba, and I see both Asian and American fans around. :3 Even so, there are still quite a few ignorant, redneck racists at my school. >_o

I've tried getting friends into Furuba, but the only two I've succeded in were my two friends who already liked anime n' stuff. XD One of their friends walked past us one day when we were talking about it, she looks at it, then was like, "What the crap, that book's backwards. O_o"
