Mew_Akee said:I live near an international university, so there are quite a few Asian, Indian, etc. students around. ^_^ So the local Barns & Noble store and the university bookstore stock quite a few manga, amoung them Furuba, and I see both Asian and American fans around. :3 Even so, there are still quite a few ignorant, redneck racists at my school. >_o
I've tried getting friends into Furuba, but the only two I've succeded in were my two friends who already liked anime n' stuff. XD One of their friends walked past us one day when we were talking about it, she looks at it, then was like, "What the crap, that book's backwards. O_o"
Gah! That really bothers me! -snarls- I carry around the books with me sometimes at school, just 'cause I lend them to a lot of my friends (thank GOODNESS most of my friends read Fruits Basket -I forced them- and all of my friends are accepting of my...obsession) but I get cold stares from people, and then the perverted boys who think Manga is mainly about porn ask me, "can I borrow that?" -rolls eyes- It has such a different meaning to a lot of kids in US than in Japan.
Of course, my school is full of that "popular" **** crowd who call anime and manga 'babyish' just because Pokemon is considered crappy now. I do not care for the Pokemon anime, but that gives them no right to judge other anime or manga! JUST LET ME GO AROUND MY DAY WITHOUT BEING JUDGED! THANK-YOU! >.<
