    Hey guys. Haven't posted here in a while but with Diamond / Pearl a month <or 2> away and a whole new Attack System to play with I thought i'd revisit my first team <a T/S/S that now uses a lot of the new pokes - and some old ones> that seems on paper to have gotten a whole lot better. This will be played mostly In-Game but i still like building the team in a competitive style so that if i ever want to take it Wi-Fi i don't need a total overhaul.

    *I'm adding in an IV line to show what 3 Stats have 31 in IV* - I'm omitting the EV line as i've yet to even play D/P so i'll get a better feel for the magic #'s then. For now just assume i'm using a CB build for offensive pokes <252 Att - Satt / Spd and 4 HP> and a standard Max HP / Split Def - Sdef for the Defensive ones <252 HP and 126 Def / Sdef>.

    Tyranitar w/ Leftovers
    'Sandstream' : Sandstorm upon entering battle.
    IV's: HP 31 / Att 31 / Spd 31
    <Adament : +Att / -Sat>
    * Dragon Dance
    * Crunch
    * Rock Slide / Stone Edge / Thunder Fang
    * Thunder Fang / Ice Fang

    Main focus of team. Sandstorm sets up other pokes. It sounds wierd saying this but this guys actually better then he used to be when he was 1 of the most feared pokes around. This thing hits crazy hard with the best Stat-Up <Dragon Dance> in the game and now a STAB <Crunch> that lowers Def - Still the old Rock/Ground combo - And the ultra cool 3 Fangs which just gives him crazy flexability. This guy is basically BROKEN.

    Gaburaisu / Kaburaisu w/ ChoiceBand
    'Sand Veil' : Increase Evasion in Sandstorm.
    IV's : HP 31 / Att 31 / Spd 31
    <Adament : +Att / -Sat>
    * Earthquake
    * Dragon Claw
    * Fire Fang
    * Shadow Claw / Roar / Aerial Ace

    Heavy Artillery. Lead-Off <Replaces Aerodactyl> Gets good synergy from 'Sand Veil'.

    Lucario w/ Leftovers
    'Inner Focus' : Immune to Flinching.
    IV's : HP 31 / Sat 31 / Spd 31
    <Modest : +Sat / -Att>
    * Pulse Bomb
    * Water Pulse
    * Shadow Ball / Dark Pulse
    * Calm Mind <wish it was Scheme>

    Special Sweep. Calm Mind up and Bomb Away. Regretably not original but there are so few Pokes capable of Special Sweeping while being immune to Sandstorm. <Wishes for a Jirachi>

    Skarmory w/ Leftovers
    'Keen Eye' : Immune to Accuracy Reduction.
    IV's : HP 31 / Att 31 / Def 31
    <Adament : +Att / -Sat> or <Impish : +Def / -Sat>
    * Drill Peck
    * Spikes
    * Whirlwind
    * Rest / Feather Rest <can't decide if i need status recover>

    Physical Wall. Obviously Spike / Whirlwind fits really well with Sandstorm. (I'd like to give the geniuses that make these games a Standing Ovation for giving Fearow Whirlwind as an egg move allowing the Mack Daddy of all birds to have it's cake and eat it too. It's more aestetics then anything else considering <Roar = Whirlwind - Soundproofers> but it just fits a bird better.) Can't decide between Instant Healing or Status Recovery. It's a shame it doesn't have Early Bird as an ability making this decision a lot easier.

    Dotaitos w/ Leftovers
    'Overgrow' : When HP is low - Grass moves x1.5
    IV's : 31 HP / 31 Def / 31 Sdf
    <Careful : +Sdf / -Sat>
    * Dig
    * Sand Tomb
    * Toxic
    * Leech Seed

    Special Wall <although not great> This is my first pretty unorthodox poke. The idea is to take full advantage of Sandstorm. Ideally i could land a Sand Tomb <Psuedo Block> on a poke that can't break him and then Leech Seed / Toxic up and if he still won't drop use Dig as attack / stall tactic. Only Leech Seeder immune to Sandstorm.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Last slot is not definite but will probably be.....

    Swampert w/ Leftovers
    'Torrent' : When HP is low - Water moves x1.5
    IV's : HP 31 / Att 31 / Sdf 31
    <Careful : +Sdf / -Sat> or <Adament : +Att / -Sat>
    * Curse
    * Earthquake
    * Waterfall
    * SnowSlide / Rest

    Last Man Standing. Standard Cursepert.

    I could also see using Magneton as my last slot too. Any pokes i might be overlooking for the last slot would be quite helpful. Also i know i split up the main attack combos like <Rock / Ground> and <Electric / Ice> but these new Attack types have my head swimming and i'm looking foward to seeing how the new combos work. <Example - Pulse Bomb - a special attack Fighting move> Any Thoughts?

    Tyranitar w/ Leftovers
    'Sandstream' : Sandstorm upon entering battle.
    IV's: HP 31 / Att 31 / Spd 31
    <Adament : +Att / -Sat>
    * Dragon Dance
    * Crunch
    * Stone Edge
    * Earthquake

    Thunder Fang is useless when you have Stone Edge. Earthquake so that Jibacoil and Hiidoran don't laugh in your face.

    Gaburaisu / Kaburaisu w/ ChoiceBand
    'Sand Veil' : Increase Evasion in Sandstorm.
    IV's : HP 31 / Att 31 / Spd 31
    <Jolly : +Spd / -Sat>
    * Earthquake
    * Dragon Claw
    * Fire Fang
    * Stone Edge

    Jolly please. lol @ Roar. Aerial Ace is also pretty useless.

    Lucario w/ Leftovers
    Humble Heart
    IV's : HP 31 / Sat 31 / Spd 31
    <Modest : +Sat / -Att>
    * Pulse Bomb
    * Dragon Pulse/Vacuum Blade
    * Dark Pulse
    * Calm Mind

    Water Pulse, wtf? Dragon Pulse hits Kaburaisu, Vacuum Blade hits Weavile.
    Humble Heart is the better trait. You WANT the speed boost.

    Skarmory w/ Leftovers
    'Keen Eye' : Immune to Accuracy Reduction.
    IV's : HP 31 / Att 31 / Def 31
    <Impish : +Def / -Sat>
    * Drill Peck
    * Spikes
    * Whirlwind
    * Feather Rest

    Feather Rest please. Skarmory can't Rest anymore, it's too vulnerable. And why you would ever use an Adamant nature is beyond me.

    Dotaitos w/ Leftovers
    'Overgrow' : When HP is low - Grass moves x1.5
    IV's : 31 HP / 31 Def / 31 Sdf
    <Careful : +Sdf / -Sat>
    * Dig
    * Sand Tomb
    * Toxic
    * Leech Seed

    Eeeeeeeeew. Annoyer Dotaitos? Annoyers fail and never work.
    Also, Dotaitos sucks as a special wall. Only 85 Sp. Defense and a 4x times weakness to the most common special attack of all time? Fail.

    Dotaitos @Leftovers
    Adamant Nature
    -Seed Bomb
    -Earthquake
    -Stone Edge
    -Swords Dance

    OR

    Dotaitos @Leftovers
    Impish Nature
    -Earthquake
    -Stone Edge
    -Curse
    -Rest/Leech Seed

    Those two movesets actually work.

    Also, Cacturne is also immune to SS and can Leech Seed, just fyi

    Swampert w/ Leftovers
    'Torrent' : When HP is low - Water moves x1.5
    IV's : HP 31 / Att 31 / Sdf 31
    <Relaxed : +Def / -Spd>
    * Protect
    * Earthquake
    * Waterfall
    * Ice Beam

    No, RELAXED please. With all the STABed Dragon Claws and Earthquakes around, Swampert needs to be super-defensive. It nearly gets 2KOed by CBMence's Dragon Claw. Cursepert also isn't very useful. It gets weakened down too easily while Cursing, forcing it to Rest earlier, prompting your opponent to set up with DD/SD and overtake you in Attack power.
    Mixpert please.

    Adherances Glasses Starmie is going to rape this team so hard. You really need Blissey or Kureiseria.

    Damn AragornBird. First off...

    This will be played mostly In-Game

    No need for that evil little Starfish going PrisonCell Mate on my team. ;)

    Secondly...
    I obviously know that <Ground / Rock> is the standard *NAME Physical Attacker* moveset du jour but i was trying to type cover rather than make 6 Good Seperate Pokes. This should answer alot of the suggestions you gave. Water Pulse over Dragon Pulse because i needed a Water attack but w/ Swampert i'd go with Dragon Pulse. <Thunder / Ice Fang> on Tyranitar over the usual Quake / Slide because he would basically be repeating what Gaburaisu would do.

    Dude WTF? You gave 3 of my 6 pokes Stone Edge? I'd consider giving 1 maybe 2 although i prefer Rock Slide's effect. Roar on Gaburaisu was for shits and giggles but no need to treat me like i'm from another planet. Everyone hates on Toxic like it's their business to do so but i'll still be using it. And if i was going the Physical Attack route with Dotaitos it would most definitely include Seed Bomb as that would help me against waters who will be a problem for my team.

    I'm not BRAND NEWBIE here. I understand that <Ground / Rock> and <Electric / Ice> are the most common combinations of moves but not every poke on a team needs to have them. This is what always happens with T/S/S teams. They are inherently filled with Ground and Rock types. Each of their individual movesets would include their STAB move so you feel like you need to put in the counter in as well.

    I would NEVER...EVER use Blissey.
    Not if she was the cure for the clap. <It hurts when i pee:'( >

    I do like the fixes of the Natures and Traits. I had no idea Humble Heart was better but i'll definitely take your word for it. Your totally right about Jolly on the CBer - that was just a brain cramp on my part. Feather Rest is in over rest. I knew Dotraitos needed an overhaul but he won't be going the Ground / Rock route. Maybe Seed Bomb / Protect / Toxic / Leech Seed. Even though i know you still hate it.

    All joking aside. Thank you for the reply even though you went Thermo-Nuclear on me. I respect AragornBird and Shanecdavis opinions above all here so if it needs work i'll need to get on it.

    It's been a long time <since Thanksgivingish> since i was playing Pokemon and i definitely need to sharpen my skills. I still don't know exactly how these new rules impact the Metagame and i guess i won't find out until April when i finally get my mits on this game.

    How's this for a fix...

    Tyranitar w/ Leftovers
    'Sandstream' : Sandstorm upon entering battle.
    IV's: HP 31 / Att 31 / Spd 31
    <Adament : +Att / -Sat>
    * Dragon Dance
    * Crunch
    * Thunder Fang / Stone Edge
    * Ice Fang / Earthquake

    <Thunder / Ice Fang unless i can find another Bolt / Beam - with Porygon Z i'd use Quake / Slide>

    Gaburaisu / Kaburaisu w/ ChoiceBand
    'Sand Veil' : Increase Evasion in Sandstorm.
    IV's : HP 31 / Att 31 / Spd 31
    <Jolly : +Spd / -Sat>
    * Dragon Claw
    * Fire Fang
    * Earthquake
    * Stone Edge

    Lucario w/ Leftovers
    'Humble Heart' : Speed increases when flinched.
    IV's : HP 31 / Sat 31 / Spd 31
    <Modest : +Sat / -Att>
    * Pulse Bomb
    * Dragon Pulse
    * Shadow Ball
    * Calm Mind

    <Humble Heart / Dragon Pulse it is. I prefer Shadow Ball over Dark Pulse>

    Skarmory w/ Leftovers
    'Keen Eye' : Immune to Accuracy Reduction.
    IV's : HP 31 / Att 31 / Def 31
    <Impish : +Def / -Sat>
    * Drill Peck
    * Spikes
    * Whirlwind
    * Feather Rest

    <Impish / Feather Rest it is - Thanks>

    Enperatu w/Leftovers
    'Torrent' : Ups Water moves when HP is low.
    IV's : HP 31 / Sat 31 / Sdf 31
     or <Calm : +Sdf / -Att>
    * Surf
    * Grass Rope
    * Rest
    * Sleep Talk

    <This things fits great providing semi-walling of problem attack types (Water / Ice) and gives me access to missing attack types (Water / Grass). It also has a stallish nature with (Rest / Sleep Talk). Very Cool. Thanks to Frost Nova at another website for the suggestion>

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    My Last Slot will be between the Dotraitos i mentioned before. Maybe a Jibacoil or Dainoosu. Metagross is always an option. But outside of the immune to Sandstorm how about Porygon Z Modest - ThunderBolt / IceBeam / Scheme / Rest. Please help me fill out the rest of this team.

    Wanted : Poke to fill the last slot in this team.

    I don't know much about the new D/P metagame, and quite frankly I don't care. I am still pissed about the lack of originality with D/P, but that is a subject for another time. Like Synch, I just wish D/P would go away. [/endrant]

    What I do want to add is that you don't have to feel like you have to have every type covered on your team. Putting Water Pulse on a Poke just to have a Water move doesn't really help. Try not to put too much emphasis on "SUPER EFFECTIVE" moves. It is always better to play to the strengths of six individual Pokes and make a team out of them instead of putting together a team of six Pokes that attempt to cover all types. Doing that could very well spell doom if the Poke you rely on for an [insert type here] attack has already been KO'd. However, having six Pokes that are well rounded can stand longer than six pieces that make a whole. I don't know if that is making any sense at all, but hopefully you got the gist of it.

    Having three of the same move among six Pokes is fine if that is what makes them effective. Especially in-game, where the mediocre AI has trouble taking advantage of a team's makeup. As long as you have a couple Pokes with strong special attacks, you will be just fine. Good luck

    one of dodaitos or kaburiasu has to go.They are both quad.weak against something with ice beam
