Game just freezes/crashes during the Gengar vs Nidorino animation at the begining,

    So I just started from hacking today using fire red and was patching it with various features before editing the rom with advance map or other applications. I first applied Mr.Dollsteak's Decap and Attack ips, then Squeetz' Music Rom Base, then the Black & White Pokemon Summary Screen, Sideways stairs, and then finally did the necessary steps for the Dynamic Pokemon Expansion. I tested the rom and it seemed to work. However, I also wanted to add the Complete Fire Red Upgrade so I followed these steps.

    Unfortunately, when I tested the rom after step 6, the game freezes during the intro animation.
    What is happening and how can I fix this?
    Sorry for my lack of knowledge as I just started rom hacking.

    Adding patches over patches is probably the worst idea. It is highly recommendable to add stuff yourself.
    Concerning Mr. DollSteaks ROM base, it is highly outdated. For a better hack, just add Complete FireRed upgrade from the BEGINNING.
    And lastly, I am pretty sure the Complete FireRed upgrade states that it should be inserted in a vanilla FireRed ROM.
    In the end, don't add patches over patches over patches ever.
     
    Thanks for the info. I was just doing what it said on the pdf instruction that came with the download of complete fire red and it recommended to add those before adding complete fire red.
